This improvised set reflects my fragile mood on a Monday afternoon in Brooklyn, after a few very busy and energe​tically demanding days.

It was recorded live at @thelotradio in Brooklyn NYC, hosted by the belgian label "Basic Moves".

Vera Heindel is a gifted selector with flawless technique. Playing records in the way she does takes skill, yet the casual observer might not realise just how much. Technical proficiency is vital but only part of the picture. Her style requires a deep connection with her records, one that lets her join the dots throughout hours of music to create a fluid, mesmerising journey for the dance floor. With Heindel on the decks, you might hear shuffling minimal mixed into acid house, or electro into dub techno, bridged by subtle, speedy transitions that never sound rushed or disjointed. You may not realise a new (and very different-sounding) track is playing until long after the old one has been mixed out. It's an ego-free method that puts music above showmanship. From Athens' vibrant graffiti scene to the heart of its electronic underground, Bonso's artistic journey is a testament to his enduring passion for creative expression. Music has always been a driving force, leading him to explore a diverse soundscape – hip hop, funk, dub, jazz – before finding his true calling in the pulsating world of electronic music.
Bonso's DJ career began in the early 2000s, taking root in local bars and private events. His design engineering background provided a unique perspective, allowing him to refine his musical identity. This identity is built on the foundation of stripped-down house and techno, but with a fearless spirit that ventures beyond genre boundaries.
For a decade, Bonso was an integral part of the revered "Gus & Bonso" project, crafting unforgettable dancefloor experiences through back-to-back DJ sets. Since 2017, he's carved a distinct path as a solo artist, becoming a mainstay in Athens' underground scene, particularly at the legendary Six D.O.G.S. club. Here, he's shared the stage with renowned artists like Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, and Matthew Johnson, further solidifying his reputation.
Bonso's dedication extends beyond the booth. His love for music transcends the digital realm, leading him to establish "Cuts on Wax," his own vinyl cutting and mastering studio. When he's not captivating crowds, you might find him meticulously crafting vinyl records, ensuring the music he loves continues to find new life.
