Mid April 2023

The fifth instalment of the Imaginarium Mix Series is from Weapons of Desire founder Alex Handley, ahead of their Signed Up party at The Imaginarium on Saturday (April 29th).

Alex is part of Auto Sound City, and co-member Toni Aslam will also be playing. Also on the line up is Nigel Rogers aka Perseus Traxx, who collaborated with Alex on the Northern Powerhouse releases.

Life Map: A sumptuous 4 tracker from talented Bosnian producer and connoisseur of the good stuff, Danijel Kevic. Touching and joining the gaps between deep techno, deep house and dub techno, these are vibes for club peak times and for more relaxed spaces. The EP confidently lays down rich percussion and deep baselines with a measure of 303 squelchiness. The mysterious Ulf & Ralf teamed up again to strip back Function to an ethereal ambient adventure with elegant strings and dub techno allegiances.

More than 10 years after the previous episode number 08, the Cement Mixer has resumed its churning. Manchester selector Wilson Logan of Quadrant Soundscape / Dub Explorations gets busy loading it up!

"If this were a film there would be a cut scene that says “10 years later”. It's not a film so there is no cut scene. It is still 10 years later however and I have the honour of refuelling the mixer and churning out some more concrete.

This is a mix that has haunted my sub-conscious for about a year now. Something I've been meaning to record for a long time. A mix full of left-field, back of the crate selections, stuff I love but sadly very rarely get to play. House, Techno, Electro, Breakbeat, Hypnotic Salad Jazz, Amish House, Terminator 2 (Judgement Day) Techno etc.

It's all in there. In fact, any genre you can think of or make up is in there, (even if it's not, it is).

Its all in the mix, and it's all cement.
