It's an honor for us to introduce you to one of the artists that has influenced us the most since we started our story back in 2015. I still remember listening to the first edits that Mori-Ra posted on his soundcloud page and since then, here at MM Discos we've always had an eye on every single thingthat he has put on the streets.
Obsessed digger and one of Japan's most esteemed collectors, Osaka's based dj Mori Ra must be one of the most determinate artists on the scene. His Vast knowledge of local and international music has developed his wide ranging style. An artist that flees from fashions, vinyl lover and a true tastemaker. Eclecticism is probably the word that it could define him better; Disco, Balearic, New Age, New Wave, Jazz, Rock, Experimental and everything in between should be expected on his sets and edits, blending all this genres and breaking all the rules in order to keep the dancers and music lovers on their toes and grooving. Mori Ra's MM Discos 13 is the result of the continuous and relentless exploration for years of thousands of (almost) forgotten records, regardless of genre and author. A work not suitable for all tastes, unclassifiable and highly addictive.

A-side of a forthcoming 12" on Japan's Let's Get Lost label, due out Autumn 2012.

A tribute to, rather than a cover version of "Is It All Over My Face?" by Loose Joints. This track was made specifically to be played at our bi-monthly Optimo nights in Glasgow. The Loose Joints song was an Optimo anthem but had been played so much that I wanted to put it to rest and decided to create a track that was inspired by, and paid homage to it but wasn't strictly a cover version. After all, it is an impossible and impossibly good song to try and cover. 

This has been rigorously road tested throughout Summer 2012.

Vocals are by Alicia Matthews from Organs Of Love. Cello is by Emma Goldman. All other instrumentation by JD Twitch. Mix assistance and mastering by James Savage.

For more than half a decade Alexander Dorn has shaken electronic sounds, stirring shapes and forms as Credit 00 that adhere to few genre tags. His Bordello A Parigi debut is no exception. The alumnus of Uncanny Valley and Ratlife arrives with four tracks under the banner of The Cosmic Funk collection. Drawing on a spectrum of influences, the Leipzig based musician melts reimagined house with broken beats, blends Eastern acid aromatics with jazz abstractions and achieves a sound that is stunningly unique. Within this sonic cocktail you’ll also encounter dashes of samples, a peppery head of 90s anthems and a liberal glug of freestyle funk. A one of a kind record from a one of a kind artist.

After the vinyl release of "Life Worth Living" EP, the Belgo-Australiana duo Ca$hminus return with "VER$ION$" which is exactly what it says on the tin - friends' reinterpretations from around the globe. Melbourne’s brotherly duo Donald’s House get things started. After their debut EP on Berlin’s Touch Of A Distance a few months ago, they present their first ever remix: a low slung, far out dub version of “Paradise” - the original will see the light of day early 2020. 

Next up, favourite Frenchie E-Talking (Whities) delivers a shapeshifting dancefloor version of "De Vlasmarkt". A true rollercoaster of a track that takes you places. Emotional entertainment, dare we say it.

Hong Kong’s very own Mr. Ho rounds things off. The Mihn Club resident and one of the powers behind Klasse Wrecks offers a murky, understated groove with echoes of trance lurking out of sigh.

Bep Kororoti & Akin debut on Modern Obscure Music with four Afro influenced tracks. Bep Kororoti released a self-titled mini album on Hivern Discs’ more experimental HVNX sub-label in 2016, but he is better known for making music as Kresy. Here, Kororoti is joined by Akin, who provides vocals and saxophone on this EP. Epomuyeñ is dancefloor cut with striking percussion and strong vocals, whilst Eruobodo is a sax dominated track. Ijotiya channels the spirit of Fela and Afrobeat over a spinning bassline, whilst Love is the only way has a deep spiritual vibe and a powerful vocal.
