Man, I was so damn high when I laid down "Hollywood Mansion Party." My cousin hooked me up with some moon rocks, you know, those insane nuggets soaked in hash oil and rolled in keef dust. Just one bowl could keep me smoking for hours. So, I hit record and nailed the drum track first, then blasted through the bass and guitars, all in one take each. It was like a whirlwind, man. Growing up, I never really knew my dad. He left when I was too young to remember. He had a brother who had three sons, my cousins, but we were very estranged from each other. Later in life, I heard about my father's passing and decided to reach out to his side of the family. I got in touch with Timmy, one of my cousins, and we talked on the phone. Timmy was shocked by the news and shared that he and his brother, Kenny, had been in a motorcycle accident. Unfortunately, Kenny didn't make it. Timmy was badly injured. We decided to meet up, and since we both loved music, we brought out our guitars and went deep into the woods to jam out. We recorded several improvised songs on my Samsung cell phone, expressing our pains and struggles with death and loss. They're not high quality, but they're and they are not always on, but they are honest reflections of our emotions. A moment captured in time.
