Very cool!  Beat accrual builds very steadily with the drumbeats holding back the demons!

Ciclo Continuo (2021) for soprano saxophone & percussion:
prepared snare drum, singing bowls, tuning forks, crotale.
Composition Ciclo Continuo seeks to achieve a hybrid organic timbre while associating atypical instruments to complement each other. A snare drum is used as a resonating body for the objects. The snare drum's wire also serves as a saturation effect changing the timbre of metallic instruments and also reacting to the saxophone's sound. Dyads and multiphonics are predominant in the saxophone part while pitched, but very fragile and unstable sounds are used in the percussion section. Harmony is enriched with beatings creating synergy between musicians, unfolding timeless processes. The duo plays the cycle that is on loop, an endless repetition devoid of narration, a basso continuo of an
unsung aria.

This is a bridge.
This bridge is not your typical "cable" bridge.
This one does not go to nowhere.
It is much stronger, and it is made with little pieces of metal in it.
It is sturdy, but it takes time and it does not always hold.
Like anything else, it can break.
Sometimes people will drive onto the bridge, and jump over the side.
Some people will jump right into water.
Some people will jump right onto the train tracks on the other side of the river.
The bridge has no train tracks.
It is the train tracks that make the bridge.

Disquiet Junto Project 0600: Reaching Out
The Assignment: This is a shared sample project. Rework a set of seven WAV files provided by Marcus Fischer.

Step 1: The musician Marcus Fischer, long a friend of and participant in the Disquiet Junto, has graciously put together a set of shared samples that will be the source audio for this project. Part of the beauty of a shared sample project is that there will be an underlying quality — a tonality, a texture, a commonality — to all the disparate works that are produced from the foundational material. Listening to the variations as they surface will be its own special source of pleasure. You can access the files here:

Step 2: You can rework the audio from Step 1 in any way that you see fit. You can use all of it, or just one tiny piece, or whatever subset you find strikes your ear. The one stipulation is your finished piece should begin and end with an unadulterated segment of one of the provided tracks for at least two seconds. Please credit Marcus Fischer when posting your track.

Eight Important Steps When Your Track Is Done:

Step 1: Include “disquiet0600” (no spaces or quotation marks) in the name of your tracks.

Step 2: If your audio-hosting platform allows for tags, be sure to also include the project tag “disquiet0600” (no spaces or quotation marks). If you’re posting on SoundCloud in particular, this is essential to subsequent location of tracks for the creation of a project playlist.

Step 3: Upload your tracks. It is helpful but not essential that you use SoundCloud to host your tracks.

disquiet0619 -Beat Accrual

This improvisation on piano was inspired by the Disquiet Junto Project 0630: Record a piece of music with a minimal amount of equipment and software. Every single VST-plugin counts, so this was quite a challenge. Including the keyboard, the DAW (Cubase) and the effects for mastering I needed 9 tools.
