The Hamburg based Techno duo have been busy in the studio churning out some very special techno tracks, the first of which can be found on their forthcoming EP ‘Hybrid Animals’.

‘Analog Birds’ comes at you with a big room warehouse style hook synth, and its low end driving groove swings throughout the mix accompanied by some seriously warped sonar style sounds.


‘Synced Apes’ is a jacked up techno swing style track, with syncopated drum rhythms which growl along an array of powerful synths. It’s down tempo than its predecessor, but still displays some of the same elements in synth effects and patterns.

Was looking to get some 90s vibes in on the mix as that era encapsulates the summer feeling more than most in my mind and as always wanted to add a few exclusives so ended up putting together this badboy full of 90s throwback warmth.

Obviously working over Andrew Weatherall's 90s anthem 'Loaded' as well as some vocals from the Jungle Brothers with a nod to the Urban Takeover version released back in '98.

With "VA - Outworld 001", the Berlin-based artist Klangkuenstler sets the tone for his new label 
venture of the same name, delivering a blueprint of techno that is futuristic in feel, yet firmly rooted 
in the analogue aesthetics of its heritage. In consequence, Outworld embodies a timelessness, 
which runs parallel to its mission statement – to take the listener deep into the outer realms and 
beyond.
Klangkuenstler's own stellar contribution, 'Supernova', is central to this essence, both in name and 
sound: the textured, high-velocity drum programming bursts with energy and propels the track 
forward relentlessly, while a transcendental synth dances amidst eerie pads and a squelching acid 
bass-line.
'The Evolution', by Manchester's Rudosa, also reaches for a higher sphere by way of a crystalline, 
ever-morphing lead that stretches towards infinity in its climax. Rumbling underneath, heavily 
pounding drums add balance, while acting equally hypnotic.
Hush & Sleep from Maastricht then conclude the odyssey with 'Nio', a muscular builder, consisting 
of dynamic cyber-strings looped endlessly above a fiercly galloping groove. As washes of white 
noise and hi-hats take off into space, it's evident that the EP ends with a third definition of one 
specific feeling: Outworld.

This EP is inspired by one specific scene from Stanley Kubricks cult movie “2001 Space Odyssee”. The one where the monolith appears among a bunch of apes: The Dawn of Man.

One Track Brain: “Nightlife and partying and dancing has to do with letting go.

With losing yourself in the moment and going back to the basic knowledge of the body. And sometimes it even brings out the ape in us (laughs. Letting go of your inhibitions and allowing yourself to
feel more raw emotions and naive togetherness. 
Just like that basic feeling of bewilderment
and excitement when the apes see that monolith. So in that way, bring out the APE!“ The title track “APE” comes with a remix by Heiko Laux. A nicely refined and flowing version, keeping the elements recognisable but taking them to a new territory and making them fit for a different bag.

No Sleep is a dry, dirty, modular and tweaky peak time affair. It comes with an additional vocal because OGENN happened to walk into the studio at one point. We included the version without the vocal for those who like it dry as fuck. Can i See You? also emerged from a modular jam, but is more vibey and building, when all of a sudden out of this world sounds grab you by the throat.

"Think (About It)" was originally recorded 45 years ago in the summer of 1972 by the fiery Lyn Collins. Produced by the Godfather of Soul, James Brown, it barely scraped into the RnB Top 10 at the time and normally would have been discredited as just another great James Brown production.  In 1987, it began being sampled by a new generation of Hip-Hop artists like Roxanne Shante, Robe Base, and DJ E-Z Rock. Suddenly, the world woke up to the possibilities of sampling; and since that point, "Think (About It)" has been sampled 1908 times and is the No. 3 most-sampled record of all time.

So, for our 250th release, we’ve decided to commission remixes of Barbara Tucker’s incredible rendition of one of our most successful productions. Opolopo really cut loose on this with a funky, disco-influenced groove containing real organs, synthesizers, and horn sections. Believe us; this mix is completely off the hook! This project also contains the production talents of house master Richard Payton, whose work as 95 North in the 90s remain nothing short of legendary. Needless to say, the 95 North, Vocal, and Acid Dub versions of “Think (About It)” are peak hour pieces that will heat up dance floors all summer long. Combining Opolopo and Richard Peyton seemed to be an appropriate way to do justice to a record that simply jumps outta the grooves.

"Think (About It)" still has universal appeal and will be implanted within the DNA of dance music listeners across the world.
