The legendary 1988 movie "Le Grand Bleu" ("The Big blue") by Luc Besson depicting the life of French freediver Jacques Mayol features my favorite original soundtrack, written by Eric Serra. 
I remember buying the CD as a kid after seeing the film, and have been regularly listening to it ever since. 

Among the many dreamy cinematic gems written by Serra for the movie, my favorite moment is "Virgin Islands", a short track starting with a dark minimalist mood lightened up by a splendid lush guitar riff, and evolving gradually into an exhilarating strings-led anthem. 
I've always wanted to remix it to give it a groovy balearic twist in a DJ-friendly format. So here is my take of it.

I strongly recommend a full dive (!) into the whole extended soundtrack :)
