Dive headlong into the depths of the cloud city, straddling the skies thick with Cirrus Sapiens. The new album from Skytree can't come soon enough, though its bated May 20th release date is softened by today's gorgeous taste.

Like a billowing cumulus fattened with rain, "Star Forest" is dense and lush, a hallmark of Evan Snyder's production aesthetic. For the first time in a decade of production, this latest album made its way to a fully stocked studio for careful mastering by Brendan Connors at Metronome, which has polished the work of The Pixies and Umphrey's McGee. The result is an even fuller sound, that gives listeners a three-dimensional image and such a sense of depth and rotation in a fully immersed bubble of vibration.

The album itself calls to mind the ethereal, the beyond; but much of the album, a truly collaborative effort featuring artists D.V.S*, Biolumigen, Esseks, Technicolor Lenses, and so many more, really was birthed "in the cloud." Today's track stems from work with Jasha Tull, the one and only Space Jesus. Help also came in the form of keyboardist Yoel B'nai Yehuda, an elk, an Eastern wood-pewee, and Snyder, himself, crunching into an apple.

Son of a humble composer and fractal scientist, Ian Mckenna aka Craftal has furthered the family legacy with his algorithmic approach to computer music. In only a few short years his productions skills have improved at exponential rates. Comparable to the likes of Spoonbill and Bogtrotter with an ever present sonic homage to the one like Dave Tipper. With regular underground sound system appearances and several key performances in the Denver area Craftal has become somewhat of a hometown hero. His recent relocation to Evergreen College in WA for sound design will only sharpen his skills for further explorations into sound. WIth great honor we present to thee Craftal's freshman EP "Unfurlurling".

From a dimly lit cave in Austin's own underground, Joseph Roberts, aka “Detox Unit”, has been cooking up his own blend of futuristic frequencies for the past 4 years. His aim, to make the imagination run wild; to tickle the brain in impossible ways. Originally hailing from New York, Joseph spent his childhood tinkering with old radios and building computers, fascinated bu the near endless possibilities that they presented. Inspired by artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Monolake, and Luke Vibert, he picked up a copy of Ableton Live and a myriad of synthesizers and hasn't left his cave since. Now 4 years later Detox Unit has become a familiar and loved name in the Austin experimental music scene known for his intricately woven sets and unique productions.
