First podcast delivered by our very own artist and a founding member – Yan. His style has evolved a lot since the days of his first appearances, but the ones who saw him jumping on the boat back in the days are able to see clearly how he has developed. Yan is a very versatile DJ possessing the most important ability of djing and since that talent was discovered – learning from his slots at different parties and choosing the right tunes for each event he is asked to play. Affiliated projects to Harmony Rec. and promoters in Prague are well aware of his skill, which gives him even more power to dig deeper and not to bring overplayed stuff to the dancefloor. Kaelan's first approach to music took place at the age of 11 years when he started to study piano, and shortly after, thanks to his great devotion and deep passion for everything concerning music, he was involved in different local bands.
Subsequently, his love for electronic music started to blossom, thanks to great artists such as Basic Channel, Robert Hood, Substance et Vainqueur, Derrick May, Jeff Mills and many others.
During the last few years, his necessity to propose a multifaceted vision of electronic music, made it necessary to create new projects, such as “Kaelan”, which became his main alias for techno. Under his side project “2030” he propose electro inspired music, while “Ixm” is his pseudo for dub techno music.
He is owner of Subosc and co-owner of Ranges label projects. The former aims to propose modern and classy techno music, while the latter is a tribute to reminiscent dub techno sounds.

Subosc Podcast 001 - Kaelan

SONE is Seattle based DJ and producer Brian Sonnleitner. His first exploits into live music was being immersed in the underground punk scene in the Midwest US during the mid/late 90's. Fast forward to now, while keeping the same energy and ethos of his early experiences, Brian is a DJ of nearly 2 decades with his sets trending towards the driving and tracky side of techno.

2008 brought Sone into the realm of production with his music exploring a heavier, stripped down sound. His original productions and remixes have received support from Ben Sims, Reggy van Oers, Joachim Spieth, Juho Kusti, TWR72, Amotik, and many others.  His tracks appear on his home label, From 0-1, which he runs with long time friend JX-216; while surfacing on other labels such as TMM Records, Android Muziq,  Webuildmachines, Rheostatus, and Darknet.

RLSD are very proud to present Mareena for the 31st edition of our podcast series. 

Mareena developed her musical career in synchronicity with the steady advancement of techno and house after growing up in the GDR where techno emerged in the '90s. As a result of her experiences within the diverse musical landscape of Berlin, she has developed her own distinct sensibility for musical narrative. This evolution led naturally to DJ gigs in many notable venues and organisations such as Berghain, About Blank, Griessmühle, De School, Tangent Gallery in Detroit during Movement Festival, The Bunker New York, Monasterio Moscow, IfZ and most prominently her residency at Tresor since 2012.

Her influences skew trends and rather take root in Detroit and Chicago acid, growing to encompass the more hypnotic take on dub, ambient, and broken beats as well. Throughout the years she has performed extensively both locally and internationally, including tours in Australia, North-America, and in South America with the Goethe Institute. With this, she has accomplished the rare feat of earning a reputation solely as a DJ and curator due to her empathetic energy and vibrant disposition behind the decks. However, she has been quietly working away at her music studio, refining her composition skills and deepening her musical knowledge.

As one of the curators of the New Faces nights as well as the founder of the UNRUSH podcast, event series and record label, Mareena has continuously crafted new conduits for both established and emerging artists to break down musical barriers and transform the world around them. As a DJ she is a chameleon, carefully stitching together immaculate and immersive sounds that will quickly turn any discerning dance floor into a sweaty rave. Whether she is playing peak time, warm-up, or after hour, her sound reveals an intelligent eclecticism fused with bold elements of surprise that exemplify her rich knowledge of electronic music culture and history. Dynamic techno sets in clubs and lush ambient sets in churches create a balance within Mareena's musical sphere, and one can immediately sense that she feels at home no matter the setting.
