This is a cover inspired by two songs: "Light My Fire" by The Doors, and "El Cantante" by Ruben Blades it represents our style of music fusing latin with pop/rock

Light My Fire

The band A View from the Moon began it’s formation in late 2011 when two childhood friends from Puerto Rico, now living in the Washington, DC area inspired their friend, poet and songwriter, Mali Phonpadith to join them in creating music that would represent the diverse backgrounds of its members.
Victor, percussionist and Israel, lead guitarist both wanted to write and perform music that reflected their Latin background and still catered to the general public so their music now blends, latin, jazz and pop. The two other members include, Joe Sinclair rhythm guitarist and Alison Heald/Webb, lead vocalist.

Our vision is to form a community of musicians who share their passions and love of creating and playing music – raw, uncut, and unplugged. Natangal is a Tagalog word meaning “detached” and it represents to us – originality, creativity and freedom to express ourselves without conformity or distortion. Nantagal encourages our community of artists, whether poets, dancers or musicians to showcase their talents authentically by performing “unplugged”.
Our mission is to promote and enhance the arts of poetry, dance and song by fostering originality and improving the lives of individual artists and the community.
