Experimenting with layered synth sounds, including my current favourite the GForce Oberheim EZ, and improvising the arpeggiated pad and the vocal sample.  I've been working more on the mixing and mastering, with various bits of sidechain compression to funk it up and finally Ozone tools to finish.

Small Talk

"Angst" was the third track I ever uploaded to SoundCloud, created during my early days exploring FL Studio. At the time, I was new to modern DAWs and still figuring out how to adapt to tools and techniques vastly different from those I used 25 years ago. My goal was to convey a sense of anxiety, but with limited technical knowledge, the result fell short of what I had envisioned.

A friend, Dmitrij, gave me some harsh but honest feedback, calling the track "terrible." Back then, I struggled to understand his criticism, but I kept the project in my archive. Recently, I rediscovered it while going through old FL Studio files, and listening to it now, I finally understood what he meant.

Inspired by a recent bout of personal anxiety, I decided to rework "Angst" using everything I’ve learned over the past year. My goal was to keep the heart of the original but reshape it with the sound I’ve developed and refined—a sound I feel reflects me today. The result is Angst Reborn, a track that blends its original raw emotion with the depth and atmosphere I strive to create in my music.
