I think this might be my favourite tune of 172.

Interesting rhythm. It kind of paint image of train raid in my head.

This and later dissonant parts are interesting. Mix need bit polish because some elements stick too much while others are buried.

I like that closing chord. I do some IT work and so really like your cover art.

nice change up -- and I really like the dissonant chords!

Favorite KVR One Synth OSC 172 Songs

This track was composed for the KVR One Synth Challenge 172 using the free software synth Lith. 

Definitely was inspired by Blade Runner and Clockwork Orange for this one. 

I used the random button liberally and then further tweaked the synth settings to finalize the patches.

25 instances of Lith synth were used in Ableton 10 to make all sounds and instruments. Stock effects used: EQ8 x 12; Utility x 13; Delay x 1; Autofilter x 1; Compressor x 3; Echo x 1; Reverb x 3; Saturator x 1; Limiter x 2.

I couldn't resist to join this round with another synthwave "banger" and use my own presets for this synth. I remember it was on OSC several years ago and I found it very good for drums and FM style sounds. It also has a really nice wave-shaping functions, like on the expensive commercial synths. It's kinda CPU hungry, but thanks to quality selection I can use it even on my old laptop (why the heck big companies cannot implement such a simple and genius feature?).

This month's One Synth Challenge is using Soda Devices Lith. Slightly odd UI on this one and some folks found it a bit of a CPU hog. Once I got used to the UI and got the hang of modulation, it was quite easy to use. Not too hard on my admittedly quite beefy laptop either. All the non percussion patches are either from init or tweaked from Random. The percussion patches are slightly tweaked versions of factory presets.
Back to Tracktion Waveform Pro this month with 11 Lith instances and the following additonal plugins:

Naming Things Is Hard

For this track I used 11 instances of a wonderful synth named Thorn by Dmitry Sches (DS Audio). All modulations of the parameters have been done live by making use of aftertouch and/or the modulation wheel. So no automations other than some volume changes here and there. In a studio setting, I think this makes the music nice and organic. Of course, a DJ on stage always does this. 

The title “Anemoia” is referring to the phenomenon of feeling nostalgic to a time or place that one has not experienced before...

Factory Tour

The gremlins in Negoba's studio decided to steal snippets of his previous OSC's to create a monster destined to confound and disgust all listeners. Unbeknownst to them, their creation (Jenkins) instead prefers cuddles and long walks on the beach.

All sounds created using Odin2 Softsynth by Wave Warden for KVR OSC #197.

Mix of stock presets, tweaked presets, and init. Shout back a bit to a previous track where I used Odin on an open round. I think I’ve learned a little since then.

This month was a real challenge!

When I looked at Odin, I came up with the idea of a true One (!) Synth Challenge – just a single instance, no excuses.
I dove deep into sound design and quickly realized: this would become a real borderline experience.

While endlessly tweaking, I kept discovering new sonic paths – sometimes inspiring, sometimes frustrating.
Odin could be pretty temperamental when dealing with MIDI, but in the end, I managed to shape something that feels raw, tense, and expressive.

So here it is: Grenzerfahrung (borderline experience) –
a track born from limitation, chaos, and way too many hours. ;)
