I find this to be an interesting piece of music. What genre might this be? Is there one? The meter changes, key changes, and lofi dissonance/distortion in layering...I dunno, but I find it strangely compelling.

Feels to me this is too wetty reverb wise, but the track is greatly composed and I enjoyed listening to it!

I like music that is non-genre defined - interesting song, and good technique for using hardware.  The overall mix felt a little mushy to me, but it was a nice listen!

As others have noted, this is some substantial work given that it's hardware. That says a lot all by its self.

PeterBPL - Double Split

This is my entry for the 179th edition of KVR's One Synth Challenge - a month when we could use any synth, so I chose u-he's Zebra Legacy, or more specifically, the Dark Zebra.

Its a single Grid patch triggering 2* 24 Oscillators tuned in the overtone row. One set plays the first 24 overtones, the other set plays the first 24 prime number overtones. Each oscillator in a set has a different speed. I modulate the waveforms and the attack and decay times of the oscillators, which creates the changing sounds...

Keys to Siberia

This month's one synth challenge felt like actual work! Any synth, hard or soft so I opted to use one of my wee pile of hardware synths: IK Multimedia's Uno Synth Pro. Midi tracks were laid down in Waveform Pro and recorded (repeatedly) one track at a time as audio. At least my Scarlett 8i6 also gets a look in here...

Anyhoo, 15 'instances' of the IK Uno Synth Pro recorded with Tracktion Waveform Pro 12 and the following plugins:

- The usual Clip to Zero collection of dpMeter 5, Blue Cat Gain 3 and KClip 3
- Tracktion TEqualiser
- TRacks EQP-1A and Black 76 to tame the snare a bit
- Tracks Comprexxor to glue the layered kick
- Air Drumsynth 500 as a percussion standin as the percussion tracks were bounced from the Uno (disabled in the final mix)
- TRacks Bus Compressor on the percussion mix buss
- Mastering the Mix BASSROOM, MIXROOM and LEVELS on mastering duty along with TDR Kotelnikov and TRacks Stealth Limiter
- IK Uno Synth Pro Editor for patch editing convenience

One synth preset was used (Reso Pad) while the rest of the sounds were created from init.
