Pev swiftly follows up the Pulse EP with another four tracks of sprightly club gear that continue to shape out his current areas of exploration in the studio. As ever, there are no fixed concepts or approaches - just an instinct for energising, inventive tracks taking in a range of tempos and rhythms.  

The first half of Pulse Modulation EP is marked out by linear rhythms which showcase the most techno aspects of Pev’s sound. ‘Pulse V’ is charged with the kind of alien synth lines which could only come from his studio, but also draw a line to the hi-tech soul of foundational Detroit techno. ‘Pulse VI’ has a starker, bleep-led sound pitched towards tougher dancefloors. 

’Pulse VII’ strips things back in comparison, leaning in on a blanket of bass and keeping the drums sparse and to the point - a study in soundsystem pressure.  Widening the spectrum of the record, ‘Pulse VIII’ sees Pev make a rare push up into 160+ territory - something normally reserved for his DJ sets. Swerving obvious break edits, his take on jungle is lean and crisp, delivering a fresh slant on the sound while maintaining the sharp focus of his current output.

With this special release lekande presents another side of the Row
Records sound. His debut on the label focuses on an interplay of
spheres and textures. At hadjuk studios lekande created two pieces
with sci fi structures and lo fi sounds: damaged tape loops, swirling
drums and layered synths go slightly ahead with strange field
recordings. The result cumulates in a multicolored listening
experience - on floor and on headphones.
Both tracks are closely connected to lekandes further releases on
solid rotation and glenn dancer but especially for Row he searched
for a way to shape a sound represents a strong connection between
art and nature. Remixes by Lowtec and Kaep & Bhed use their
individual perspectives to reinforce this concept.

Ryan Clover is one of a number of fresh faces emerging from the New York Techno scene – based in Brooklyn he releases music which is destined for rowdy dancefloors and is the founder of HOMAGE.

In the past few years he has released material on the likes of ARTS, Kneaded Pains, fabric and Fantastic Voyage. His latest EP is titled ‘My Light, My World’ EP and was released via Eris Drew’s new label, Ecstatic Editions.

His sound draws upon the origins of Techno, with deep melodic pads, fast intricate percussion and a deep rooted groove within which its very easy to get lost.

At times its euphoric and emotional, at others it’s heady and dark.

This mix showcases his versatile, driven approach to the dancefloor and holds no punches with a hard hitting energy straight from the off.

A year ago, Steffi released her fourth solo album and the first project released through Candy Mountain: The Red Hunter.

Dedicated to Steffi’s late mother, the album tells a story of family ties, female spirit, and the dynamics of change. Its tracks are drawn from drafts written on the move over the past few years and brought together during immersive sessions at the Candy Mountain studio. They reflect a time of personal flux transformed into something new, resolute and affirmatory.   Today “The Red Hunter” gets remixed! 

“I have asked 9 totally different artists, personal heroes and people close to my heart, to remix my album! As a DJ I have a wide musical horizon when it comes to my track selection. Also as a producer I like to not attach myself to one genre, explore my options and express myself fully. I love how every artist interpreted my songs and how these very different versions represent my musical bandwidth.”

From ambient, IDM, broken beat to electro, techno, and drum & bass, there is a remix for everyone.

Steffi’s co-69 headstorms host Violet, takes listeners on a drum and bass journey.
