Here we go with our very first exclusive premiere and we've got a corker to get things rolling. Venezuelan duo Fur Coat have kindly given us the first play of the title track from their forthcoming EP 'There's No Time', which is coming out on Jamie Jones' ever popular Hot Creations label.

This new track is a perfect example of their love affair with the sleazier side of house music, razor sharp synth lines cascade over a hefty set of percussion and a rumbling, morose b-line while a pitched-down, barely audible vocal lurks in the background. Hot stuff we're sure you'll agree. You can get your copy of the cut from the 31st of March.

'Restored' will see artists such as Danny Daze, Popof, Joris Voorn, Harvard Bass and MonkeySafari all remix tracks from the original 'Restore' album by Marc Houle. We've heard the whole thing and trust us, it's fucking great.

Today however we have the premiere of M.A.N.D.Y's edit and the German duo have gone in hard with their re-imaginging. 'Business' has been turned into a dark and menacing roller, with mutant undertones and fierce zaps to boot. It's a trippy one and we're sure it'll hypnotise any crowd that hears it.

MARC HOULE UNVEILS ‘RESTORED’ REMIX ALBUM 	

Marc Houle is set to release a full remix package from his debut LP, Restore, featuring remix contributions from an all-star line-up of techno luminaries including Danny Daze, Harvard Bass, Julian Jeweil, Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y., Popof and Marc Houle himself.

Originally released on Richie Hawtin’s Minus label a decade ago, Restore stands alone as Houle’s very first long-player and helped to establish his penchant for the quirkier side of techno and his superlative production skills. Spread across 11 tracks it encapsulated the dark, minimal, groove-driven sound purveyed by Hawtin and the rest of the Minus crew, while retaining a strong sense of Houle’s unique character and identity. Now it’s the perfect time to breath new life into an album that has stood the test of time, still utterly infectious and absorbing – a collection of music that captures an era of stripped back, yet captivating sounds. 

10 years since its release, the album is getting the remix treatment and Marc has called in some of the very best in techno talent to give Restore a fresh makeover. The selection of artists who’ve contributed to the ‘Restored’ project includes heavyweights such as Joris Voorn, M.A.N.D.Y. and Popof together with additional reworks from stars of the new generation such as Danny Daze, Julian Jeweil and Harvard Bass, all giving his tracks a new lease of life. In addition, Houle himself has also stepped up to offer a new contemporary take on his own music, collaborating with vocalist Genevieve Marentette on ‘Demor’.

"Restore was the beginning of it all for me.  It was influenced by the sounds of Detroit and the endless parties I went to there in the 90s.  It was my first album and to me it had the perfect balance of darkness, groove and electronic sounds. 10 years later, I am excited to present Restored with some modern interpretations on old tracks by some friends and colleagues who have kept the party going throughout the world."- Marc Houle

The 'Open Possibility' EP is Govor's most accomplished work yet and brings forward a refined sound to the Body Parts imprint. It's soulful, brooding techno that works both in the club and on the stereo. 

Perhaps what's most exciting about the record though is one of the accompanying remixers.

Ricardo Villalobos knows how to work a club and his extended remixes are always an intricate journey into the warped, yet brilliant mind of the Chilean producer. 

We caught his six-hour set at Fabric last weekend and he showcased choppy mixes, unexpected tangents and meandering melodies, once again proving why he's been so popular for nearly two decades.

vi•sion quest (noun): a search for personal communication with the spirit world. 

Every mystical journey eventually comes to a fork in the road. The seeker of life’s destiny has two options: remain satisfied with whatever level of consciousness he has already attained, or push forward into ever-new domains of promise and possibility. 2014 sees dance music’s best-known spiritual pilgrims, the Visionquest trio of Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, and Shaun Reeves, bravely embarking upon that wondrous journey. Each member of this celebrated DJing and production team contributes a distinct yet interlocking vision that together forms a seamless, organic whole. Just think of Crosson’s enthusiastic shuffle, Lee’s soulful stare, Shaun’s soft touch. Everything they craft has the same unmistakable flair: slow-burning, shape-shifting, expansive techno and house marked by compositional elegance and unabashed pop hooks.

Although long-time partner and co-conspirator Seth Troxler has stepped aside to pursue other projects, 2013 was the biggest year ever for the four. Inspired by the passing of the Mayan calendar, the group embarked upon Visionquest 13, 13 dates where the boys not only played together the whole night, but curated a true multimedia experience. From London to Buenos Aires, from the American hinterland to the Chilean wilderness, Visionquest 13 was a Freudian trip into the deepest recesses of the Detroit rave unconscious, what Ibiza Voice described as a “collective expedition into the depths of your soul”—but with a sophisticated, modern twist.

Their accomplishments are well-known and too many to list. For starters: a critically acclaimed 2011 Fabric mix; year-defining hit remixes for artists as diverse as Kiki, Wareika, Tracey Thorn, and David Lynch; showcases and dates in the biggest clubs and festivals around the world; and the creation of a now iconic-label that’s played host to dancefloor weaponry from the likes of Benoit & Sergio, Life & Death, Dinky, and Laura Jones—all this while each member maintained significant individual production and DJ careers. But, by definition, no journey dwells in the past. So in 2014 they launched Visionquest Special Editions, a limited-release, vinyl only label. Evoking the experimental sounds of the European techno avant-garde that first inspired the boys back in Detroit, the debut release, remixes of Montreal songwriter Quilla, features a stunning collaboration between Shaun and long-time hero Ricardo Villalobos. With Visionquest Special Editions we see the group at home at a breezy, gentle afterparty, not just igniting the club. As Visionquest winds around the corner into their bright future, they remain open and excited for what lies ahead.
