On the A-side, it is none other than Melchior Productions LTD stamping his print with yeahyeahyeah "Yeah X 3". intriguing the ear to carefully listen, the track is a drive through humanoid voices smartly pitched, a sinister melodic phrase played through an Organ, put on the foundation of a  breathing, thumping bassline, all brought to a cadence with an elegant (as they have always been) Drum sequence.

With "Columbiformes EP", Rawax once again makes space for Matthias Schildger to channel his many musical personas into one cohesive yet versatile release. Known under aliases like Star_Dub, Binary Operator, Polyfan Polyphenix, CNTRL, or simply M.S., Schildger uses his decades of experience to deliver five tracks that balance minimal precision with atmospheric playfulness.

"Pigeon Swarm (Vinyl Edit)" sets the tone with stripped-back minimal energy that harks back to the golden days of the genre. Percussive and bouncy, its groove feels both light and infectious, while a deep synth-line quietly fills the background, giving the track the depth it needs to stay locked on the floor. It’s minimal music at its grooviest and most timeless.

"Columbiformes" shifts gears into something darker and heavier. Built around a wobbling synth-line and a massive, almost physical bassline, the track still keeps its stripped-back character, but its energy is undeniable. Playful in details yet menacing in presence, it’s the kind of cut that shackles dancers to the groove without offering much of a way out.

"Breakin’ Doves" opens the B-side with a deep and breakbeat-driven mood, carrying that late-night atmosphere Matthias crafts so well. A subtle sense of melancholy runs beneath the breaks and grooves, creating a track that feels like the soundtrack to a dancefloor lost in time - irresistible, driving, but wrapped in a kind of nocturnal haze.

"Bird Hypnotizm" rounds off the vinyl edition with trippy textures and atmospheric spirals. The track is playful yet entrancing, layering Matthias’ sound design into an environment that feels otherworldly but never loses its dancefloor focus. It’s hypnotic, subtle, and perfectly suited as a closer.

The digital-only track, "A Song For Feral Pigeons," is perhaps the EP’s secret weapon. Lean and minimal, but with a deep groove that keeps listeners moving, it’s a reminder of Matthias’ ability to create understated yet captivating pieces. A rising name within Spain’s flourishing house and techno scene, Barcelona’s Blanka is quickly becoming an artist to take note of with appearances across a number of the city’s most notable venues including Cityhall, La Terrazza and R33, plus international shows at the likes of Egg (London) and Uhm Festival (Rotterdam). Having featured heavily as a core resident in ROOM FM’s programming, playing alongside the likes of Hito, Fideles and Neverdogs, here we see the emerging Spanish native make her debut appearance on the station’s in-house label Room Trax as she delivers her ‘Fearless’ EP, backed by remixes from fellow Spaniard and Rewire Music boss Enzo Leep, and Russian house favourite Tripmastaz. Enzo Leep’s remix of ‘Fearless’ sees the Seville-based artist opt for slick organic percussion grooves alongside sweeping sonics and extended delays to the original’s vocals.

PREMIERE: DOTT - Shuttle Control [ubiyu]

As the summer heatwave rolls on, so does the music with the new arrival of record label Confucius. Brain child of Swiss DJ and Producer, Sandro Kuhne which sees the first release as a split EP between himself and Romanian talent Arapu, a fast rising name of the minimal house scene and who's track "Pe Final" is a sweet somber thrill of groove and moodiness, tight kick and high hats, punching along with a snappy snare wrapping over a subtle melody and tight bass line. After hours or early sun rise set, this track has the fuel ready to ignite.

For the B-side we are spoilt with two tracks from Sandro Kuhne, the first entitled "Ephemeral" being a no holds bar intense groover, full of flickering sounds and cuts, stabs and detail. This one has a relentless energy and attitude to become a classic dance floor killer. The second song is "Sonorous" and is the deeper of the two, packing punch and funk while bringing in the atmospherics and trippy happy hands in the air vibes, smiles will be on faces when this one drops.

vi•sion quest (noun): a search for personal communication with the spirit world. 

Every mystical journey eventually comes to a fork in the road. The seeker of life’s destiny has two options: remain satisfied with whatever level of consciousness he has already attained, or push forward into ever-new domains of promise and possibility. 2014 sees dance music’s best-known spiritual pilgrims, the Visionquest trio of Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, and Shaun Reeves, bravely embarking upon that wondrous journey. Each member of this celebrated DJing and production team contributes a distinct yet interlocking vision that together forms a seamless, organic whole. Just think of Crosson’s enthusiastic shuffle, Lee’s soulful stare, Shaun’s soft touch. Everything they craft has the same unmistakable flair: slow-burning, shape-shifting, expansive techno and house marked by compositional elegance and unabashed pop hooks.

Although long-time partner and co-conspirator Seth Troxler has stepped aside to pursue other projects, 2013 was the biggest year ever for the four. Inspired by the passing of the Mayan calendar, the group embarked upon Visionquest 13, 13 dates where the boys not only played together the whole night, but curated a true multimedia experience. From London to Buenos Aires, from the American hinterland to the Chilean wilderness, Visionquest 13 was a Freudian trip into the deepest recesses of the Detroit rave unconscious, what Ibiza Voice described as a “collective expedition into the depths of your soul”—but with a sophisticated, modern twist.

Their accomplishments are well-known and too many to list. For starters: a critically acclaimed 2011 Fabric mix; year-defining hit remixes for artists as diverse as Kiki, Wareika, Tracey Thorn, and David Lynch; showcases and dates in the biggest clubs and festivals around the world; and the creation of a now iconic-label that’s played host to dancefloor weaponry from the likes of Benoit & Sergio, Life & Death, Dinky, and Laura Jones—all this while each member maintained significant individual production and DJ careers. But, by definition, no journey dwells in the past. So in 2014 they launched Visionquest Special Editions, a limited-release, vinyl only label. Evoking the experimental sounds of the European techno avant-garde that first inspired the boys back in Detroit, the debut release, remixes of Montreal songwriter Quilla, features a stunning collaboration between Shaun and long-time hero Ricardo Villalobos. With Visionquest Special Editions we see the group at home at a breezy, gentle afterparty, not just igniting the club. As Visionquest winds around the corner into their bright future, they remain open and excited for what lies ahead.
