Riverette label bosses Dos Attack kick off a new EP series entitled ‘International Space Melodies’ that starts with a first volume featuring all new music from big hitters Jacques Renault, Pletnev, Tiger & Woods and Keitov.

This label has become a firm favourite in recent years, with fast selling EPs from the likes of Legowelt, Kornel Kovacs and Medlar, supported by DJs including Axel Boman, DJ Koze and Leon Vynehall. The bosses, Dos Attack, have been friends since childhood, they mix late 70s New York energy with 90s romanticism and pure good vibes, make music for TV, are massive vinyl collectors and share a studio with our friends Pional and Yanik Park. They are at the heart of a Spanish dance music revival and this compilation is to celebrate five years of the label. It will have four parts that will come on a four separate 12” releases with a special edition boxset at the end of the year and kicks off with a well curated selection of the day’s best names.
Up first is Jacques Renault, the Let’s Play House label boss, record hoarder and multi- genre master. His superb ‘I’ll Treat You Right’ is a glistening and uplifting house cut with joyous vocals and shimmering disco chords that are ready-made for a huge impact this summer. Then comes Vilnius man Pletnev who can do anything from Oriental to Afro grooves via deep and dubby house. His ‘Golden Sand’ is an exotic track with a mystic lead synth line that takes you to the Far East as tumbling hand drums make for a loose limbed, feel good groove.
Tiger & Woods are one of the most esteemed duos in disco, with a new album out this summer that shows off their mastery of sampling and sunshine grooves. Here they go for a jacked up cut with jittery drums and coarse hits, weird vocal FX and a boogie bassline that never lets up and cannot fail to pump the party. Lastly, Ketiov hails from Poland and is one half of the acclaimed Catz & Dogz duo who have lit up the wonky house scene. His heavily percussive workout is a restless track with real energy and dance floor tension as well as freaky vocal loops that keep you locked.
This is sure to be another hot selling EP on the essential Riverette label and opens up an exciting new series with all new music and exclusive artwork from respected artist Manderoid.

The Amsterdam-based Filament crew have been contributing to the city's left-of-center electronic scene for quite some time now, enriching nights with regular soirées – where guests range from Maurice Fulton to Paramida –, hosting livestream events or playing one of their multi-flavoured DJ sets across town. Distributed by Bordello A Parigi, their newly-founded record label sets out to tell the sonic story through every stage of an event; a tune for every chapter from the lingering suspense and early haze of doors-open to the wind-up power-hour grand hoorah.

Next to the Filament trio making their production debut, the EP features tracks by Monty, Møzaika and Hysteric - who delivers a heavy-hitting Italo cut, with big stabs, drawn-out chords and a relentless arpeggio.

vi•sion quest (noun): a search for personal communication with the spirit world. 

Every mystical journey eventually comes to a fork in the road. The seeker of life’s destiny has two options: remain satisfied with whatever level of consciousness he has already attained, or push forward into ever-new domains of promise and possibility. 2014 sees dance music’s best-known spiritual pilgrims, the Visionquest trio of Ryan Crosson, Lee Curtiss, and Shaun Reeves, bravely embarking upon that wondrous journey. Each member of this celebrated DJing and production team contributes a distinct yet interlocking vision that together forms a seamless, organic whole. Just think of Crosson’s enthusiastic shuffle, Lee’s soulful stare, Shaun’s soft touch. Everything they craft has the same unmistakable flair: slow-burning, shape-shifting, expansive techno and house marked by compositional elegance and unabashed pop hooks.

Although long-time partner and co-conspirator Seth Troxler has stepped aside to pursue other projects, 2013 was the biggest year ever for the four. Inspired by the passing of the Mayan calendar, the group embarked upon Visionquest 13, 13 dates where the boys not only played together the whole night, but curated a true multimedia experience. From London to Buenos Aires, from the American hinterland to the Chilean wilderness, Visionquest 13 was a Freudian trip into the deepest recesses of the Detroit rave unconscious, what Ibiza Voice described as a “collective expedition into the depths of your soul”—but with a sophisticated, modern twist.

Their accomplishments are well-known and too many to list. For starters: a critically acclaimed 2011 Fabric mix; year-defining hit remixes for artists as diverse as Kiki, Wareika, Tracey Thorn, and David Lynch; showcases and dates in the biggest clubs and festivals around the world; and the creation of a now iconic-label that’s played host to dancefloor weaponry from the likes of Benoit & Sergio, Life & Death, Dinky, and Laura Jones—all this while each member maintained significant individual production and DJ careers. But, by definition, no journey dwells in the past. So in 2014 they launched Visionquest Special Editions, a limited-release, vinyl only label. Evoking the experimental sounds of the European techno avant-garde that first inspired the boys back in Detroit, the debut release, remixes of Montreal songwriter Quilla, features a stunning collaboration between Shaun and long-time hero Ricardo Villalobos. With Visionquest Special Editions we see the group at home at a breezy, gentle afterparty, not just igniting the club. As Visionquest winds around the corner into their bright future, they remain open and excited for what lies ahead.
