The vision you see is bisected by a crystalline river that flows with a water most pure, the single familiar element that flows amidst this alien landscape. From the fringes of the fungal towers, reptilian beasts spread their leathery wings and glide down to the surface to snatch gigantic insects whose brilliant carapaces shimmer blue-green in the light of the planet’s vibrant sun. Amidst this ochre savanna lay a number of boulders strewn carelessly across its surface by ancient natural forces that now lay dormant, the rocky terrain a reminder of the glacial facade that this land once bore.

This undulating organism only becomes more prevalent in the foreground, where its yellow coloration mimics that of the fallen leaves of your homeworld. Here to be found are no rotting remains upon which for this fungus to feast, and yet even in its widespread prevalence it is dwarfed in size by the gargantuan decomposers that neighbor it, with stalks that stretch to spread their spores wide beneath the blanket of the clouded sky.

There is a familiarity to this vision that the great serpent presents, reminiscent for you of journeys past within a world of cerulean hue. Upon stepping across their thresholds, one finds themselves instantaneously & inexorably arrived at their destination, having crossed the boundaries of place, space, and time with an unsettling ease. Their very existence seemingly exceeds the enmeshing rule of the divine throughout the universe, and yet such divinities as the VISION SERPENT itself grant these gateways as a boon to their followers, allowing and even encouraging them to travel the vast expanses of their creation. Could there even be a limit to their destinations?

Such thoughts race through your mind as you stand at the precipice of another such portal, the visage of the vision serpent looming above in the simmering shadows cast by the gateway’s luminescent edges. YVC make their VISION SERPENT debut with PIECE OF MIND, a single that features a pair of remixes from 8Kicks & Krypta. The title track’s determined bassline rolls out beneath an assortment of glitched sonic fragments that flit about within its darkened atmosphere, with 8kick’s remix redefining the low-end motion and incorporating a mysterious melodic motif. This is followed by WHEN IT COMES, the single’s B-side from YVC which thrums with galvanic tonalities that emanate from its driving rhythmic core. Krypta’s remix closes the EP by rerouting these tonal currents, folding them back on themselves for an expertly warped take on the original track.

A mass of grasses shift in the portal before you, their blades sweeping softly upon one another according to the whims of the gentle wind that blows within. Its gusts further ruffle the leaves upon a single tree, clinging to life on the nameless plain that flickers in the vision which you see. Interwoven between this foliage is an undulating mass with no apparent terminus, the musculature of a great beast that slumbers amidst this gentle grass.

Though you see neither its feathered head nor hear inside your mind its whispered call, a feeling of certainty rises within you. This is the body of the VISION SERPENT, coiled and at rest within its planar home. Why, you wonder, has it summoned you here? What knowledge of its native land could it not know? What therein could it desire that you seek? The vision before you is irresistible in its promise of knowledge about a creature that hoards that self-same resource, though there is no telling what fate might await you who should choose to step through. 

CO-EXISTENCE make their VISION SERPENT debut with “VENOM”, a single release dripping with sonic allure for those who seek to listen. The single’s A-side strikes immediately with a multifaceted sequence of tones & textures that warp the listener's acoustic reality before sliding into THIRD EYE, a hypnotic composition that takes control of the movements of those susceptible to its influence which is made even more frenetic with the roaring basslines of a remix by Aaron King.

A single figure stands petrified in the portal before you, its stony form dwarfing the nearby landscape of similar mineral makeup that seems to have birthed it into this world. Indeed, all that you see amidst this plane is barren stone and ashen sky, as though all other life had been consumed by the gigantic humanoid sculpture that dominates this vision. It would be easy to describe the land before you as lifeless, and yet from the cracked hide of the behemoth glows a faint reddish hue reminiscent of a rising dawn. There is an energy that suffuses the giant, a spark of divinity granted by an unknown hand. Wordlessly through the portal, it calls out to you, and thus by divinity you find yourself drawn between the planes once again. 

HIBOO makes his VISION SERPENT debut with THE GOLEM IS COMING, a single that draws on its namesake’s stature with a series of unrelenting basslines that meld with and are infused by an animating overdriven arpeggio. As the vocal sample within instructs an introspective course, THE GOLEM IS COMING combines these elements to entrance listeners in awe of its gargantuan presence.
