Founded in early 1998, the goal was to consistently put out records that would be loved and played by many in the house music community. Viva Recordings found success with its first debut from Johnny Fiasco and the with Rick Preston's Altruism EP, which gained notoriety when "Spring Fling" was featured on Mark Farina's San Francisco Sessions Vol.1. From these early releases the road was paved for Viva Recordings' success. Over the last few years we have been working on personal projects but now have decided to bring the label back and take the Viva name back. DJ / producer Jacki Why is bringing her playful energy, punchy basslines, and cheeky lyrics to fuse deep tech grooves and sometimes provocative sounds to make people laugh and dance. 

Curating fresh vibes women have been loving in the club scene, Jacki Why often blends sleek underground textures with bold driving rhythms and upbeat selections that celebrate the freedom to come as you are and hold nothing back.

She’s played Seattle’s most iconic venues like Neumos, Monkey Loft, Supernova, Madame Lou’s, Diffusion, Nectar Lounge, Cherry and more; and is a member of femme-foward collectives Disco Clam and MMBassy, helping promote female DJ’s and producers for more visibility and representation in the music industry.

It’s clear Jacki Why is carving out a lane all her own – from intimate underground parties to larger scale stages, the mission is always the same: to bring people together through a shared love of grooves that hit just right.
