Next one for our new Podcast series is our good friend Finn Johannsen. He is regular customer at OYE and booker from Paloma Bar, where we have the opportunity to hold our regular OYE events.

Finn Johannsen is a DJ and writer for numerous print and web publications. He also co-runs the label Macro Recordings, and is an impresario at the clubs Paloma and Monarch.  He lives in Berlin.

Keith Anderson:DJ and Timeline Music UK cofounder, Keith Anderson, was brought up the good wayexposed to the timeless quality of Electro in the late 1980’s. Fascinated by this enigmaticsound, he bought his first two electro records Herbie Hancock Rocket  and Newcleus Jam onit This only solidified his love for Electro and he ended up buying all the classic tracks on12inch circa 1986 and 1987.1988-1989 would see Keith getting into the fresh worlds of Acid House and Techno. The lovewas there as it was with Electro. Following the inspiration, Keith frequented the Soul 2 SoulShop in London, eventually buying The Dance by Derrick May. It was during these yearsthat Keith set out to shift the gears into Djing.From the DJ perspective, Keith's main objective is to bring the power to a mix selectingtracks that work well together to create a powerful blend, to allow the creation of a storythroughout. Detroit-based producer, singer, and percussionist Alton Miller has been playing a fundamental role in defining House Music for over three decades. Born in Chicago and raised in Detroit on Stevie Wonder, Santana, Parliament Funkadelic and the Philly Sound. Alton’s early roots in soul music led to an affinity for clubbing and the perfect storm of music, dance, and skill that is required to create it. Alton opened the legendary club The Music Institute, in 1988, along with his like-minded friends Chez Damier and George Baker. He has released music on some of the best independent labels in the industry such as Detroit renowned Planet E and Mahogani Music and Europeans Defected and Neroli Records. Prolific producer, Alton Miller continues to further his musical endeavours with releases on labels, including his own InnerMuse Recordings and Music Institute Records. Since 2019, Miller has been cultivating his connection with South Africa’s thriving house music scene. That same year, he created the Alton Miller Foundation to help youth to develop life skills and frequently is asked to speak at workshops and symposiums about his experiences and contributions to Electronic music and House music. 

Alton has two forthcoming EPs on Mister Bear Records in Spring & Summer 2024 and we’re excited to showcase both to the House music world.

From these early releases the road was paved for Viva Recordings' success.
