Founded in early 1998, the goal was to consistently put out records that would be loved and played by many in the house music community. Viva Recordings found success with its first debut from Johnny Fiasco and the with Rick Preston's Altruism EP, which gained notoriety when "Spring Fling" was featured on Mark Farina's San Francisco Sessions Vol.1. From these early releases the road was paved for Viva Recordings' success. Over the last few years we have been working on personal projects but now have decided to bring the label back and take the Viva name back. Born and raised in the Seattle area and always surrounded by different types of music. My personal musical journey took me from 80s synth-pop, to early rap & hip-hop, metal, grunge, punk, and then industrial music, before finding house, techno, and the underground Seattle rave scene in the early 90s. After going to my first rave in 1993, I was absolutely hooked, started collecting vinyl, and bought my first set of Technics SL1200MK2 turntables and DJ mixer in 1995. 

Collecting vinyl and DJing led me to Platinum Records Seattle, an underground vinyl store,  where I worked from 2000 to late 2003, during a massive resurgence of rave culture in Seattle. During that time, I played multiple raves at old venues like NAF, Studio B, Club Insight, Club FX, and clubs/after-hours like Aero Space, Noc Noc, Liquid Lounge, Club Contour, etc. 

At the end of 2003 I starting working for Rane Corporation WA, a pro-audio/ DJ mixer company that was based in Mukilteo area from 1981 until the closing of the factory in 2016. While at Rane from 2003-2016, I worked as a Product Specialist, Technical Support, Product Clinician, Social Media Manager, Artist Relations, Beta Tester, Project Manager, and Product Design, and the designer of the infamous Rane MP2015 and Rane MP2014 rotary DJ mixers. 

Fast forward to today, I am still DJing, still raving, and now throwing underground parties in the Seattle area (ifykyk 😘). I'm a resident DJ for the Diffusion crew, Brit Jean Presents, and Blue Moon. I've been producing music under the name "Double Helix," a musical duo with my good friend Rob Ali, with two releases out (so far) on Deep Contour Music, and Seattle's own Uniting Souls Music!

Hey Everyday Party People, this is Lucky Brown with that underground sound.

Born Seattle, WA  musical influences started with typical Pop radio, heavy on Motown and R&B while dancing with Mom in the living room.  Summers basement sessions in the 80’s, with my Uncles, rocking out to the best Classic Rock... And then with my Pop!  He gave me that special schooling on Soul music and what makes a groove.
Just out of college in ‘97, and barely fuckin’ around on some belt drive Gemini turntables, an old friend introduced me to House Music, and took me to my first "underground" dance club.  That first time I really knew I was hearing House, it was Doc Martin!...Second show, Jeno!!!
I had loved music and been dancing all my life, but I never moved like that before… Had never experienced that ecstatic camaraderie of oneness on a dance floor that House music can create.

Cried my eyes out right on the dance floor.  Bought a pair of Technic turn tables a few weeks after that, and still rockin' 'em 26 years later!

I've been thankful to have had residencies over the years at a few spots in Seattle and Hawaii.  My favorite parties have always been the intimate outdoor renegade events, Full-Moons, Beachsides, and Hill tops!
Now residing with my wife Hope DeLaney on our cloud flower farm near Volcano, Hawaii .
