Candye Kane - Coming Out Swingin' (feat Laura Chavez)

By using complex picking patterns and playing their wooden or metal resonator guitars in a variety of tunings, the great blues guitarists of the 20’s and 30’s could produce syncopated dance rhythms. Over these rhythms they would sing a simple melody, the guitar acting as a second voice sometimes complementing or finishing a phrase started by the singer.  By bending, snapping and damping the guitar strings, they could produce drumlike effects or a voicelike sustain by using a glass or metal slide. 
This record is a tribute to some of the musicians I have been studying for nearly 50 years.   It has been among my greatest pleasures in life to record, perform and teach their music.  It is my hope that through my efforts the listener will connect with the orignal recordings of these great musicians from the past.
