We’re back following a brief hiatus with podcast 140 - a deep, dubby, emotive and hypnotic ride courtesy of Laima Adelaide.

As put into words by Laima herself, as an accompaniment to her ‘Modern Nature’ album (Annulled Music, Jan 2021):

“My main inspiration is exploration:
Walking in the forest.
Footsteps become rhythm.
Leaves become noise.
The movement of trees becomes ambience.
Each of the tracks is a study of an unknown environment which forms itself in my imagination.”

While she may be talking of her productions, we can certainly feel the whispers of nature calling to us through this mix.

As many of us know, music can open our eyes and awaken our senses to the world around us in new and wondrous ways… as its sounds and vibrations infiltrate our minds - and if we fully surrender to that moment -  nature’s colours begin to illuminate, its sounds gently vibrate against our skin, we see the tiny intricacies of Mother Nature for the miracles that they are, we are reminded of the interconnection of all things, the fleeting and the eternal.

For us, the beauty of listening to a mix like this is that we're reminded just how powerful music can be, and we feel the strongest urge to take a long, leisurely walk in nature to explore, and reconnect, with this journey as our guide.

EMMY BETIOL is a versatile artist, she explores sounds that range from the deepest to the most intense arrangements.

Atmospheric, hypnotic and dark sounds are some sound proposals that are present in her repertoire.

Throughout her career, she has always been involved with the underground scene in a determined and persistent way, spreading ideas and contributing to the development of the electronic scene in her region.

Co-founder of @phobiaproject & Phobia Skin, Techno's artistic nucleus in Blumenau and resident of Terraza Musik Park in Florianópolis, she collects memorable performances alongside djs and producers from various aspects of the electronic scene.

After nearly one year has passed since the launch of our very own podcast-series “Circulating Waves” it is time for the 13th episode. A year full of great music and profound mind wandering together is behind us! Thank you for that, we are looking for everything lying ahead.

After many years of being musically influenced by the Berlin club scene, Reign. started finally producing electronic music himself. Initially as part of the duo disørda, he started to release music under his second pseudonym in 2019. He soon was able to place his creations on important labels like Emphatic, Concrete Records and Aarden. His musical identity has ever been evolving, from a raw industrial to today's deep and hypnotic sound.

For this anniversary Reign. will take us on a journey into the very depths of the vortex. A wall of sound which you would expect only in the lowest areas of the sea: Driven by broken rhythms, flying drones, quirky noises and backed by dark, floating atmospheres this definitely travels you far distances deep beneath the surface!

Techno, der mit großzügigen Flächen arbeitet, sich ausreichend Zeit lässt und über Sets mit einem langen Spannungsbogen funktioniert, ist in Dresden nicht en vouge. Während Hypnus-Records, Monument, Harmony-Records, The Gods Planet und andere in den bedeutendsten Clubs von Berlin, Leipzig und Prag ihren festen Platz im Repertoire der elektronischen Spielarten von Musik haben, sucht man in Dresden vergeblich danach. Umso erstaunlicher, dass der Produzent und DJ Axoon (@Axoon-Live ) seinen Lebensmittelpunkt trotzdem in Dresden hat. Seit mehr als 10 Jahren ist genau dieser deepe, hypnotische und meditative Techno seine Heimat. Aus seinem Podcast quartal (@quartal-techno ) ist mittlerweile ein Non-Profit-Label geworden. Der Plan ist, dass jede Release die nächste finanziert.
Wir freuen uns sehr, dass wir zu unserer Jubiläumsausgabe mit Axoon einen Künstler zu Gast im Studio hatten, der die techno.show auf coloRadio sowohl musikalisch, wie auch geographisch wieder sehr nah an die eigenen Ursprünge führte.

DJForma-SHPS is the musical project of DJ and producer Marcelo Encina, focused on broken sounds, modern and classic dreamlike grooves and productions with energetic reminiscences of electro, tekno, acid, breaks, etc.
 
With productions on labels such as LPZ Records (PY), Bogotoure Records (Colombia), Perlas (Arg), Sismo (Arg), and Bass Water Freak Out (AUS)
 
Having recently performed on a mini tour of the city of Buenos Aires, where he shared experience with referents of the Buenos Aires underground movement; locally it was presented in clubs such as Tango, Sequence, Distrito (CDE), Neu!(BsAs) Caldera (BsAs) and independent cycles such as Orange, 2osc, Room 101, Cracked Society, Be Techno, among others.

On the second of April, one of the creators of the techno scene in north-western Slovakia will also appear in the mix in the Perpetuum club. Techno lover Derma, the founder of the Technozhluk event and an integral part of the underground life in Žilina, will play on PLAY on April 2. in Brno. Derma has been involved in the club scene since 1994 and, like all DJs of that time, was affected by acid.

 Together with Grining, he organized the first house parties, which quickly found their regular visitors. After the initial small events, he also organized several larger ones, which included performances of the techno pioneers of the time, such as Toky and Dalo (Loktibrada). Events under his leadership took place mainly in the legendary BM-club and Kryta Strelnica in Žilina. Derma is currently a member of the FOUR group, where he also contributed to the creation of new projects such as ElechtroChatowica or Restart. Axoon's musical dynamics open a portal to another dimension that takes us to places far beyond our earthly imagination, inhabited by extraterrestrial life forms that communicate in light and sound. Don't be afraid, step ahead and explore this new habitat!

Known as an ambitious free spirit, Axoon defines his vision of techno as a producer and DJ with releases on various labels such as Aarden, Khoros, Indefinite Pitch and others, focussing on hypnotic and trippy deep techno.
Since the foundation of his non-profit label "quartal." he has been pressing his vision into vinyl with well known artists like Kontinum, Mordio, TAAR1 and most recently ALPI.
In addition to curating the quartal. podcast series, he also plans events throughout the year, that concentrate on ambient and deep hypnotic techno.

The mix Axoon delivered for our series truly evokes the feeling of encountering alien organisms, as its dark and minimalist track selection is enriched with organic textures, quirky tones and haunting whispers that feel strangely familiar yet completely unfamiliar in their otherworldly eeriness.

A rare sonic journey to experience that we are not alone in the vastness of space.
