What would have become of D.A.F. if they had been signed to Trojan instead of Mute back in the day? Add a good pinch of absurdism and social realism in the vein of prized film director Roy Andersson and Vanligt Folk might just be the answer. The Gothenburg group’s name can be translated to ’common people’ and they make use of primitive electronics, drums and skewed vocals - ranging from harsh social commentary to the purely nonsensical - to create their own take on body music. ’Hambo’ is the name of a traditional Swedish folk dance that was highly popular among the common people at the turn of the last century. With this album, Vanligt Folk juxtaposes the working class dance phenomena of Hambo with modern day rave culture. This is done in the most blasphemous manner thinkable, as is the way of Vanligt Folk. Concepts like nationalism, race and tradition are all treated with the same merry lack of reverence. The only thing that needs to be respected is The Dance and those who take part in it, whether accompanied by accordions or drum machines. Or both. 

This album is a collaboration between Kontra-Musik and DJ veteran Rivet’s label Kess Kill.

Following volumes 1 & 2, Cultivated Electronics label-head Sync 24 hails another world-class line up to the helm to bring 'From The Dark' to a strong close with Volume 3.? Finnish duo Morphology kick things off with 'Sentinel'; a gritty stepper with a sinister synth riff, followed by Alpha 606's 'Zombie King' of wiggy arpeggios and off-kilter analogue delays.? Flip for the B1 where Silicon Scally enters with a raspy and cutting, harmonious jam. B2, which is a collaboration between CE head-honcho Sync 24 and NYC based Joonam, Prada, is a 140bpm big-room monster, with a reverberated low end and quivering moans of spooky voices.? On the next disc, is Miami-based Calderin with a sickening groove that draws you in and holds you where you are from start to finish. Following up is Brooklyn based techno stalwart Donor under his new SC-164 electro alias switching things up with earthy snare rattles and a tweaked-out, panicky synth lines. Nomadic (of UK electro label Touchin' Bass) then rolls out an addictive chord progression above tight, snappy beats, while masked, Dutch duo Animistic Beliefs close out the series with winding, morish pads that draw from a sci fi sound-palate, showcasing a glimpse into their astounding live set-up.

After a musical break of ten years, Franck Sarrio celebrates his great return on RADIO MARS with four original tracks half way between Electro and Techno genres. For his new EP on French label, hopefully the second of a long series, the Clermont-Ferrand based artist delivers a funky and cosmic trip of his typical trademark. Alternating between cerebral and epic dance floor cuts of pure anthology, “Army Of Robots" deploys an impressive musical weaponry whose crystal clear and robotic sound will not leave you indifferent.
Having made his first Dark-wave and industrial steps on mythic Bunker imprint in 2003, then inaugurated with “Secret Industry” the first outing of his own FSS label in 2005, Franck returns today to an powerful electro tinted with Detroit influences (Dopplereffekt, Aux 88, Cybotron). The author of essential "Robotic Invasion EP" on RADIO MARS in 2008 also appeared on various compilations including “SOM compilation” and “SOM compilation 5” from the mighty Solar One Music run by Nico Jagiella along with Robert Witschakowski aka The Exaltics.
