I created this page for the posting of older Breaks DJ mixes. It is not intended to infringe anybody's copyright as an artist or owner of the mixes, just a place to share some of the best and rarest Breakbeat DJ Mixes from yesteryear.

Pushing phat, driving broken beat sounds for over two decades, DiiSTORTiiON has had plenty of experience playing at clubs and gigs across Australia and abroad. Having multiple national tours under his belt and having shared the stage regularly with some of the biggest names in broken beat music, DiiSTORTiiON is no stranger to the decks.

His original music has received strong support from all over the broken beat community, including the mighty Crystal Method, who have used his music in many of their live and promo mixes. This led them to invite him to do a guest mix on their “Community Service” Radio show on SiriusXM.

On the Djing front, DiiSTORTiiON has shared the stage all over Australia and overseas with some of dance music’s biggest names including – Noisia, Chase & Status, Netsky, Pretty Lights, Krafty Kuts, Stanton Warriors and many more.
With no broken beat genre off the cards, expect DiiSTORTiiON to keep pushing big electronic sounds for years to come.

As they gear up to celebrate 20 years of riotous marauding, the Dub Pistols are prepping their seventh as-yet-untitled album in 2017 and there’ll be a documentary about the band dropping at some point in the year, too. And they’ll be out on the road, as usual, of course — the hardest working band in showbiz.

A kinda 21st century equivalent of 2-Tone acts The Specials or The Beat, the Dub Pistols are the quintessential festival band. Coming over a bit like if King Tubby and The Skatalites bumped into Terry Hall at a Goldie gig, the Dubs have reached their two decade milestone with a lot of ups and downs along the way. 

They’ve worked with vocal legends like Rodney P, Busta Rhymes, Gregory Isaacs, Terry Hall, Lindy Layton, Akala and Horace Andy, while the band’s mainstays are fiercely loyal and dedicated. An unorthodox collective of musicians who each have their own personal interests and solo projects, when they come together to form the Dub Pistols some dubwise magic happens.

The rhythm section of Jack (drums) and Dave (bass) are granite-solid, and guitarist Andreas (or sometimes the rock & roll stand-in, Johnny Rockstar) provides all sorts of licks and skanking chords to nice up the dance. The brass section is on fire, and rapper Seanie Tee brings the mic skills to complement main man Barry Ashworth perfectly. They’re a proper gang of outlaws, rebels with a cause, renegade outsiders who know how to bring the good times. If you haven’t seen the Pistols yet
Barry might be the heart, face and mouth of the Dubs, but they are still very much a band — as tight as fuck, and yet able to cut loose to rock venues to the core. Tracks like epic drum & bass cut ‘Gunshot’, ska ditty ’Problem Is’, early beat-freak single ‘Cyclone’ and singalong anthem ‘Mucky Weekend’ have become firm fan favourites, and onstage see the band getting deep, down and dirty. With a nod to their ska influence, and the fact that Terry Hall was an honorary Dub Pistol for a few years, they still do a lively version of ‘Gangsters’ - The Specials’ first ever single. But otherwise it’s all their own work — the back catalogue is rich in flavas.

“The next album is actually a bit more chilled-out than the last two,” says Barry. “It’s still a classic Dub Pistols album, but ‘Return Of The Pistoleros’ and ‘Worshipping The Dollar’ were more club-orientated — leaning more towards peak-time bangers. This album is a bit more relaxed, with a smoked-out reggae vibe — although there are still a couple of bangers on there.”

The guests on the next album read like a who’s who of conscious styles. Dancehall dons Beenie Man and Cutty Ranks, reggae singer Earl16, young hip-hop act Too Many T's, seminal MCs Navigator and the Ragga Twins, and long-time collaborator Lindy Layton (and dope rapper Genesis Elijah??) all bring their unique talents. Some of these will be appearing with the Dubs live over the coming year as the band present a history lesson in all the different bases they’ve covered over the past two decades. With added bass!

Band members may have come and gone, but the progression of the core of the band is constant. “It’s never like everyone leaves at once,” says Barry. “People’s priorities change: they get married or have kids and the lifestyle isn't for them anymore, so they leave — but luckily not all at the same time. So someone new comes in, and suddenly it feels like a new band.”

DJ Nysus eats, sleeps and breathes dance music. Whether its Breakbeats, Funk, DnB, House, Psy or Techno, his skill and passion for the music he loves is undeniable and contagious. His signature series "Breakbeat United" features mixes so meticulously crafted they have created an almost cult-like following, and continue to influence both the local and regional breaks scenes for the better. He is equally renowned for putting on jaw dropping live sets that ignite dance floors and make instant fans out of anyone lucky enough to witness them. With over 25 years behind the decks professionally the list of legends he has played alongside is staggering. From the Buzz & Starscape eras in the rave scenes early days, to becoming a staple in the East Coast festival scene his old school roots run deep. Now expanding to the West Coast desert party scene his storied career continues.

2014 was a great year for Breaksjunky, 
 After being nominated in 2013 at Breakspoll International Breakbeat Awards for 'Best Breakthrough DJ' and narrowly missing out, 
he came back in 2014 even stronger to not only take the Award (putting his name on everyone’s lips) 
but also adding 'Best Radio Show' to the collection.
 
When Manchester's Breaksjunky first stepped up to the decks in 2002 he had a simple ambition, to infect the masses with Big, Fat, Dirty BASS!! 

Since those early days he has only gone from strength to strength with a string of performances for some of the biggest names in Club Land, playing along side the like of:

Not content with just rubbing shoulders with the greats, Breaksjunky has made it his personal mission to play at all of the U.K's most Inspirational club nights and festivals. 
 
2013/14 saw him play a string of stand out sets across the U.K and take to the stage at Boomtown Fair, Moovin Festival, Ravenstonedale Festival and being Honoured with opening the amazing, 'Fortress' stage at The Beat-Herder Festival. 
 
As well as his own Radio Show, Awards and DJ sets, Breaksjunky is also a chart success,
With “All That Junk” co produced with Zen Cartel, "What What What" & "Rock The Disco-Tek both co Produced with Leuce Rhythms and "GET EM" co produced with Alekay, 
Which all did very well in the Beatport & Juno Breaks charts and he has lots of new projects and co labs underway.
 
Most recently Breaksjunky has started to infect USA, performing at multiple events at the 2015 Winter Music Conference in Miami,  shortly followed by a 5 show US Mini Tour in the summer which too was a huge success.

He has also played on other continents including Europe & Asia and is in the process of setting up a  European tour, 
He's all about spreading the gospel of Breaks.
 
With the buzz still going after his Awards and performances, 2015/16 is set to be a another EPIC adventure!!

Plastic Royale A.K.A. Tompa Minus who is born and raised in Stockholm Sweden, finds the inspiration in deep house and classic house music but he doesn’t really like placing his music in compartments. If there is a groove then there´s a groove. 

Over the years, Plastic Royale has released a number of house songs with everything from instrumental to vocal house songs. With Chicago 86, he was inspired by the classic old sch
ool house sound that was born in Chicago in the mid-80s.
With PARIS 62 (Plastic Royale's most played song) he takes you into the wonderful world of French dance music (you must listen to it).

The collaboration with Ashley Slater has resulted in a couple of really groovy and bassy vocal house songs.

His interest for music has been there for as long as he can remember. From sneaking into his older brothers room at a young age to play vinyl to spending his first hard earned money on a Technics 1210 turntable. The first records he bought were mostly funk and soul and the love for the genres has followed him ever since. Another big influence in Tompas  life was the bootleg records called  Swemix, that lead him into the world om mixing and DJing.
