Born in Lagos, Nigeria in 1940, of mixed Nigerian and Ghanaian parentage, Tony Allen taught himself to play by listening to records made by the American jazz drummers Art Blakey and Max Roach. He began working as a professional musician in 1960, gigging around Lagos and variously playing highlife and jazz. Today living in Paris, Allen has long been acknowledged as Africa’s finest kit drummer and one of it's most influential musicians, the man who with Fela Anikulapo Kuti created Afrobeat - the hard driving, James Brown funk-infused, and politically engaged style which became such a dominant force in African music and whose influence continues to spread today.

Allen had to overcome strong parental opposition to realise his dream of
becoming a professional musician. “My parents were…not keen. Back then, in Lagos, musicians were more or less thought of as beggars, or worse. But I just put it in front of them. I was an electrical technician, but I wanted to make a change. My mother was never happy about it, but my father, who was an amateur musician, eventually agreed.”

Allen started out as a jazz drummer. “Art Blakey was my big influence, and before that, before I started club crawling, it was Gene Krupa. When I started, I tried to play like Gene Krupa. Then I discovered Blue Note Records and Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers - it opened up another style to me. Max Roach was important too. I studied some lessons he wrote in Down Beat magazine about how to play high-hats. Most drummers in Lagos never used them, they were just a decoration on the kit,and I’d always thought that was something incomplete.”

Born on the tiny Island of Guernsey to a Portuguese family, British singer- songwriter Nessi Gomes channels influences from both sides of her ethnicity, blending the essence of the traditional, emotional and ‘larger than life’ Fado folk music with British progressive modern inspiration.
Though spending most of her life in the Channel Islands, the turning point in Nessi’s musical expression took place six years ago when she lived in Central America. The years she spent away from her home shook her world and reshaped her writing. She shifted from the more obvious themes of love, loss and broken hearts to ruthlessly exploring her inner geography and the delicate fears, insecurities, beauty and light that she found there.
Her quirky and emotive voice began to reflect a brutally honest portrait of an inner world where shadows and light, sanity and insanity dance magically together; where mysteries are unveiled.
In October 2013, Nessi returned to the west with her deeply personal raw material and with a vision to record her songs onto an album. The task to slow cook the project was given to the Grammy nominee producer and film maker Duncan Bridgeman (1 Giant Leap, Hecho En Mexico).
Since then, over the last one and a half years, inside a rusty little blue boat on London’s Regents Canal, Nessi and Duncan recorded her debut album.
Both of them locked themselves in the boat while giving the songs the time to ripen. Duncan worked with great patience; Slowly opening a creative tunnel into Nessi;s inner world and peeling back layers of doubts and resistance. He took her sweat, tears and raw talent and transformed them into a complete album.
Some acclaimed musicians joined them on the boat during these 18 months and one at the time they coloured the music with immense talent. Amongst them are classical violinist Viktoria Mullova, modern classical cellist Matthew Barley, indie whiz kid Cosmo Sheldrake, folk singer Sam Lee, rising jazz talent Misha Mullov - Abbado, German Guitar maestro Rainer Scheurenbrand, electric guitarist Dave Randel (Faithless) and tech wizard Nigel Butler.
Together, this supergroup forged a tender mosaic, whispering witchy tales of dark and light resulting in a nostalgic, progressive and detailed production - a unique musical project that recalls the vocal witches of the West such as Kate Bush and Bjork, while following Gomes’s Portuguese roots.
Following a successful fundraising campaign (April 2015) in which more than $49,000 was raised, Gomes toured 12 European countries (Mid July - Mid September 2015), sowing the seeds towards the release of her album and growing a devoted fan base.
The album revealing an authentic and heartfelt search for light, depth, hope and truth. It is a quest of art, love and trust. It fulfils Nessi’s wish to deeply touch and shake the audience, to stir and shift something within them, to speak of the uncomfortable so that it may pass, and to expose and sing the human experience to its fullest expression.

They are great healing tools because the vibrations interact with our cells and help our brain to pass into alpha or even delta waves, thus bringing relaxation and regeneration. Music is a force of nature.

I started serving cocoa in 2012. 
Coming back from Brazil, I wanted to give continuity to my spiritual studies and organise circles where we can pray, sing and dance. With my company Sol Semilla I had in my hands a raw cocoa of very high premium quality. My friend and partner Frédéric Marr, founder of the raw chocolate brand RRRaw, invites me to participate in a dance of the 5 rhythms. it was very inspiring for us and together we initiated the first cocoa ceremonies in Paris. Since each ceremony is nourished by the brothers ans sisters that we invite to share their spirituality.

Mantric Mambo is a band that has grown together for over 20 years. Their members lead the ceremonies at the Mãe D'água Temple, an Ayahuasca center in the heart of Brazil. The teachings of the sacred medicines and their profound connection with the cycles of nature have deeply inspired their musicality.

They are very connected to music in its diversity, rooted in Afro and Latin American rhythms and folkloric and gypsy grooves. They bring on joyful melodies that are uplifting, transmitting with their lyrics a message of beauty, hope, and faith.

The band was born spontaneously, from the simple joy and love for music and the sacred medicines. Their mission is to bring people together in ceremonies in a celebrative way.
