Ioannis Karapostolis, in art https://soundcloud.com/tenebralcortex, born and raised under the sun in Greece, is now studying in France. He started creating electronic music around 2011 as he needed some drum patterns to accompany his music (at the time he was really into playing the electric guitar), but once he realized what could be made with a DAW he ditched the guitar and fed his creative craving exclusively with it. 

From there on he started working on a darkpsy project called "Sound Curious" where he explored the possibilities of psychedelic sounds, contributing to some compilations and taking part in a few events in Europe. One thing he really enjoyed while making tracks was the weird break-like parts to variate from the 4 on the floor rhythmic, so much actually that at some point he started making whole tracks that escaped the norms of that genre. Around 2017, the need to escape from the normative rhythmic became more evident, and during that period he got in touch with the "https://soundcloud.com/minutelessrecordings" collective, who encouraged him to make more tracks under that abstract guise. 
All this culminated into the creation of "Tenebral Cortex"

What was a crucial sound experience in your life?
Probably meeting Qebrus at his place over a weekend in northern France. Somewhat of a lifechanging event I'll cherish until my memory permits it.

Welcome to the 236th Chapter of the Deep Electronics Podcast. A weekly released podcast that brings you a diversity into the abyss of deep electronic music. This weeks set is created by returning artist Ambionic.

ambionic (Joe Woodruff), Oxford, UK.

When approaching ambient mixes, I like to incorporate emotive tracks, this could be exploring deep melancholic sounds as well as more melodic and uplifting pieces. I also like to try and create some tension with darker atmospheric sections so hopefully these things come through. You will find field recordings, parts of film scores and other samples as well as my own track edits, the idea being to create a style of space, nature and cinematic moments.

The working title of this mix was 'Hope Springs Eternal', this is the mantra from my favourite film of all time, there's another clue in the track list to work out what that is...

Towards the end of 2019 I wrote & recorded Two Days part 1 
at this point it was just titled "Two Days" as I had not intended to compose a second part. My initial idea was to perhaps to do a series of long form works which would be released in the digital format, providing the inspiration continued to flow. In early 2020 I released "Two Days Pt 1" on bandcamp only and the response and support seemed very positive. 

A few more long form works happened from week to week and then the Covid Pandemic lock down arrived, I found myself out of work as many others did and my long form works seemed to be a nice antidote for many who now found themselves in a new and very uncertain routine. 

Many people asked if I planned to release these works on CD, which I liked the possibility of, however due to the proficient output of my work I doubted that any labels could take it on, so I decided to launch my own label to release these works. The original "Two Days" clocks in at 40 minutes so I decided that I would return to the piece and re work it and include a second part to give my fans/followers something extra if they wish to purchase the CD and also to utilise the space on the format.
