Rocket Radio is a community web radio devoted to music culture and promotion of independent artists.

Founded in Verona, Italy, in 2014, along the years RR have become a crossroads for creative people keen to participate in a community project that supports and gives voice to emerging artists through a network of local and international partnerships.

I live, work, and make music on the un-ceded lands and waters of the Wurundjeri Woi Wurrung people of the Kulin Nation. 

Australia's institutional and legal foundations were founded on the myth that nobody inhabited this continent when the first fleet of boats coming from England arrived. Speaking for settlers like myself, the least we can do is redistribute our privilege (whatever forms it might take) earned off the back of a history and ongoing practice of dispossession, erasure and violence perpetuated against First Nations peoples.   

Making music against this backdrop will always feel fraught to me until we achieve real justice and honour the many Indigenous legal orders, polities, knowledges and traditions that are already in existence in this place but have been denied by the State of their rightful, sovereign legitimacy.

Nuevo Prohibido aka Neu Verboten is a Mexican-Swiss multidisciplinary artist and curator who is deeply involved in the electronic music scene, particularly in Berlin and Zurich. They are a versatile DJ, producer, and have co-founded projects like @metarave and @rhizomfestival. Nuevo Prohibido is also a label owner for @philoxenia and @lustpoderosa.

Their artistic mission revolves around blending their diverse cultural and musical backgrounds. They draw inspiration from the 90s and 00s rave scene and incorporate elements from various electronic music genres, including Guaracha, Tribal, Raptor House, Jungle, Breaks, and UK Bass. This eclectic approach to club music results in a unique sound that reflects their personal aesthetic and honoring their cultural background. 

Nuevo Prohibido is showcasing a hybrid live set for the first time at Backlslash Festival, featuring all their new productions and upcoming music. This club-oriented set is the result of a two-year research and learning process, evolving into a diverse and open-minded musical journey filled with textures and sounds that are both unusual and yet still familiar to a club-oriented audience. It's a testament to their dedication to pushing the boundaries of electronic music and delivering an innovative experience to their audience.

Nuevo Prohibido collaborates with DJ LOUI FROM JUPITER4 to curate Metarave, which is a unique space designed to foster a multicultural rave community. Their primary focus is on electronic Latinx music, and their goal is to support emerging artists while promoting diversity within the community. This initiative is a testament to their commitment to both music and inclusivity within the electronic music scene.
