Este proyecto reúne 10 pistas inéditas, creadas en diferentes etapas y nunca publicadas oficialmente. Una colección que recorre sonidos entre el tech house, el deep tech y el latin tech, mostrando distintas facetas de mi proceso creativo durante los últimos años.

Estas piezas quedaron fuera de mis lanzamientos oficiales, pero forman parte de la historia que me llevó hasta donde estoy ahora. Con este compilado cierro un ciclo y dejo atrás esta etapa sonora para centrarme en un nuevo camino, con un enfoque más definido y una visión renovada sobre mi música.

Brazil’s Volkoder releases the ‘Prospective’ EP on Lee Foss’ Repopulate Mars, featuring 3 solid house

tracks.

Having appeared on the likes of Material, Snatch!, Kittball and Suara, Marcos Benedetti’s talent as a

producer is indisputable - even been tapped to remix the likes of Kerri Chandler and Guy Gerber. It’s

therefore unsurprising that Volkoder’s productions have frequented the sets of Jamie Jones, Catz n’ Dogz

and Tube & Berger, not to mention Lee Foss who’s now inducting him into his Repopulate Mars roster.

‘Prospective’ immediately builds the energy levels with a popping bass, intoxicating vocals and consuming

drum arrangements before ‘For Me’ opens up to echoing soundscapes and emotive vox edits, making it a

tune impossible to stand still to. Finally, ‘Fools’ introduces fragmented percussion above a high-octane,

pulsating bass line as clanging claps and a looped voice keep listeners locked in.

Electronic superstar Mihalis Safras makes his Sola debut with ‘Lacid EP’: two devastatingly effective club cuts that further establish him as a producer of consummate talent. 

Over the past few years, Mihalis Safras has been one of electronic music’s most consistent and prolific producers. A fierce champion of vinyl and tireless purveyor of quality tech house and techno, he’s worked with a raft of leading labels including Saved, Cajual, Repopulate Mars, Relief, 8bit, and of course his own label Material. Consistently one of the most charted artists across both Beatport and Resident Advisor, Mihalis contribution to dance music cannot be underestimated. 

2018 has been an especially strong year for him. Working closely with Relief he released no fewer than four collabs with Green Velvet, all of which have gone top 10 on Beatport. This summer he dropped an epic remix of Claptone’s ‘Stay The Night’, and now makes his debut on Solardo’s Sola imprint with another highly impressive two track EP. 

Kicking things off, title track ‘Lacid’ grabs your attention early on with visceral synth stabs and a rhythmic vocal sample that are soon joined by huge, pummelling drums. A devastatingly effective, powerful club weapon that sits comfortably between house and techno, ‘Lacid’ is another commanding addition to Mihalis’s arsenal. 

‘Rewrite It’ twists a well-known vocal sample, pairing it with scything percussion and hammering drums. Beautifully sinister, it builds a wonderfully dark tension before breaking into an intensely satisfyingly heads-down groove, and completes yet another sterling package from this inimitable producer.

The dude is seriously nothing but good vibes. His EP is packed to the brim with weird modular sounds, smooth rolling bass lines, and enigmatic vocal chops. 

And with a remix from our good friend from across the pond, Jacky rounds out the release with a massive tech house rendition of the title track.
