I played this song on the piano when I was learning, about 10 years ago now that I think of it. It was in an exercise book, which I still have copies of its pages. Strangely, no author is listed, and I tried looking them up with no luck. Maybe it's a folk song, who knows.

Between them lay the Circle of Twelve Houses, an ancient divination device that had belonged to Sarah's grandmother. Its intricate circular engravings caught what little light remained in the room, creating shadows that seemed to move of their own accord. Posted bills and weathered advertisements clung to the walls around them, silent witnesses to countless readings that had come before.

I did a couple guitar tracks and a couple of synth tracks, and in the process a set of lyrics
jumped into my head...I recorded them in one take...I could do better, the take is very rough,
but there's something organic about that take that makes me want to leave it alone...

VORTEX ELEMENTS is the Collaboration-Project of Sonic Chain & Chris Gate founded in 2003. Since 2009, the project has devoted itself to more traditional EM with a modern touch, which was initially created as studio sessions and then the finished tracks were arranged, giving them the right "flow".
The songs from this time were recorded on the album "Decennium Edition 2003-2013".
Since the Corona pandemic in 2020, the collaboration has shifted strongly to a way of working through a regular mutual exchange of projects via the web.
In this context, the album "Distance" was released in 2022.
The album "Wavement" was released in November 2024, characterized by strong ambient influences.

We are currently looking for partners who will move our music forward:
Labels, A&Rs, producers, etc., simply people with the right relationships.
