Messiahwaits joins for DifferentSound Podcast #053.

Raised in Seoul, S.Korea and spent a great deal of time in Berlin, Germany, where he honed his production skills and started to produce his own music, Messiahwaits is an electronic music producer. His very first acid track, ‘Journey to Mars’ was featured alongside wonderful artists in Fiedel’s Berghain 08 mix which was recorded live in Berghain and released by Ostgut Ton on January 26, 2018. 

As of 2019, he started his residency at High-Tech Seoul (Warehouse Event run by Mixmag Korea) and launched his own music label called, “MHz”. 

Approaching music as an art form rather than falling into genres and stereotypes, Messiahwaits takes his audience on a musical journey filled with droning atmospheres, repetitive jacking rhythms and a dark, disturbed aura that never fails to send the dance floor into a frenzy.

Since its emergence the project the has been often labelled as „pitch black techno war funk“ (quoted after an early Boomkat review) and closely associated to what later on would be tagged as the „industrial techno“ – movement. This is possibly due to the radical machine aesthetics Ancient Methods has developed into an unmistakable trademark sound, since more than a decade. However the mechanical framework is – no more, no less – a physical ambassador for a deeper content, there is a profound human emotionality enclosed in the rhythmic shell.

Next on The Erratic Podcast we are happy to welcome aboard a very talented, young artist who has been on our watch-list for a while, HÉCTOR OAKS. Based in Berlin by way of Madrid, he's made quite a name for himself in the last couple of years. In 2014 he joined the KEY imprint and later became part of the Unbroken Booking agency, a established collective of friends and artists from Berlin. Hector has also released superlative works on Sonntag Morgen, Quant, and Mutewax along with a slew of spectacular remixes that have been played by superstar djs around the world. At the start of this year 2016, he founded his own imprint, OAKS, with its first release being one of his strongest works yet. Sound-wise, what is unique about Hector is his uncanny sense of producing truly evoking and outstanding pieces of timeless techno. Powerful, deep, raw and emotive his sound juxtaposes classic and soulful Detroit with Berlin's modern raw and powerful sound, meanwhile infusing his trademark of authentic and enthralling melodies. In this mix for us, he delivers a seminal session full of good old, stomping techno mixed with exquisite, varied textures. This ride is certainly one that will be remembered and relived for times to come. Héctor Oaks in the mix, folks! Enjoy.

Born in Hamburg and based in Berlin since 2011, Viscerale has a classical background in piano and found her passion to select the right tunes for the right moment since she was young. She discovered the dancefloor in her late teens, but it took her many years to reveal her true passion. Her first electronical mixtapes appeared around 2015, which led to requests to perform and officially started Djing in clubs. She already made her debuts in several countries including the US. Driven by strong emotions and moved by fast, hypnotic & disturbing sounds, her sets are influenced by melodic, dark, rhythmic and Industrial Techno and usually transform into early 90’s Gabber and Hard Trance.

Keepsakes [vinyl set] - Perc Trax | Intercell October Series

Discovering the dance floor first and therefore experiencing numerous impressive and talented artists over the years, Atalanta not only developed an immense fascination for techno but after all discovered her true passion early 2018. Soon afterwards, due to complete devotion and pure enthusiasm Atalanta already played in well-known clubs in Leipzig and Berlin such as Distillery, Institut für Zukunft and Suicide Club.

Her energetic and driving sound is characterized by raw, dark, melodic and industrial techno often loosened up by break beats and electro, creating a pulsating and lifting vibe on the dance floor.

Since August 2019 Atalanta is one of the Residents at Distillery in Leipzig. Furthermore she started the project „Inferis“ together with Cedric Kuschnick. Expect one hour of heavy machinery!
