Raised in Seoul, S.Korea and spent a great deal of time in Berlin, Germany, where he honed his production skills and started to produce his own music, Messiahwaits is an electronic music producer. His very first acid track, ‘Journey to Mars’ was featured alongside wonderful artists in Fiedel’s Berghain 08 mix which was recorded live in Berghain and released by Ostgut Ton on January 26, 2018. 

As of 2019, he started his residency at High-Tech Seoul (Warehouse Event run by Mixmag Korea) and launched his own music label called, “MHz”. 

Approaching music as an art form rather than falling into genres and stereotypes, Messiahwaits takes his audience on a musical journey filled with droning atmospheres, repetitive jacking rhythms and a dark, disturbed aura that never fails to send the dance floor into a frenzy.

DifferentSound invites Messiahwaits / Podcast #053

@exilles is a project born from the alchemy of two minds, united by a common desire to undermine, compose and recompose raw, corrosive and dreamy sounds with a mystical and enigmatic imagery. They strictly perform live, orchestrating ancestral ceremonies with analog machines and modular synthesizers, whose dark and hypnotic sounds chase the persistent in a synesthetic atmosphere.

With their techno built around the polarity of light and darkness, black and white, continuously keeps us poised between opposites, between consciousness and raving.

After years of experience of residency as LiveAct/DjSet among European Techno scene with other alias, they release the first ep as Exilles on Involve Records, followed by other ep’s on A.R.T.S, Planet Rhythm, Persistence and their own Genau Recordings. They performed Live in different Clubs like Smolna, Griessmuehle, Fabrik and more.

They are currently the residents of Washington DC’s leading techno and trance project team, Synthesis, and co-founder of Decibel Collective. They have also played support for some of the biggest names in the industry of both techno and trance alike including Caravel, Julia Govor, Sara Landry, ØTTA, Dubfire, Indira Paganotto, Tapefeed, John Askew, Greg Downey, David Rust, Christopher Lawrence, Alan Fitzpatrick, Nicole Moudaber, Green Velvet, Laidback Luke, Sharam, and Victor Calderone, which has helped solidify their presence in the scene as the artist to look out for.

We are very pleased to announce our first podcast from outside of the Netherlands. This week’s mix is delivered by Buenos Aires based DJ and producer Tomas Kunkel. At the age of 12 he started producing music as a hobby, which got more serious when he released his first EP in 2015. His productions are characterized by fast beats, groovy kicks, sticky melodies and a soft touch of 90s techno. The 25 years old has released music on labels like Dyad, Krill music, GNKSTR, Knowledge Imprint and many more.

Expect one hour of fast groovy techno aimed at the dancefloor, including some unreleased tracks of the man himself.

This also marks the last podcast of 2020 and we would like to thank everyone for their support over the first few months since we started. We wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year, with a lot more to come for ANTIDOTE. Stay tuned and stay safe 💚
