So, one day, I thought: Hey, why not extend that original B.O.A.T.E.M. (Builders Of All That Extraordinary Municipality) theme song for the Boatem Crew that I’ve already iterated three times?

Scope creep got the better of me: while I iterated it (and extended it by eight measures) for the fourth time, I also hitched it up to the third iteration of the song and two other original songs with the intent to form a Disbelief-style five-movement song. However, something was missing… there weren’t enough unifying motifs throughout the whole thing, and there wasn’t quite any song that I had composed previously that fit the fourth, “resolution” phase. The solution? Compose another song – that’s where Moonfall comes in, incorporating a litany of motifs from the original B.O.A.T.E.M. song and mixing it with compositional elements of the others, forming a more suitable lead-up to the final phase theme in the process.
