VISION Radio S05E16 // Hosted by Dave Columbo Jenkins & Martijn

Between Seasons, the debut album of duo Osmanthus (Laura Reid and Krzysztof Sujata), is a collection of years old recordings waiting for the right time to come to light. Started in spring 2019, the duo began as a one-off pairing for a small gallery show, and quickly moved onto recording and playing regular gigs, only to be shelved temporarily in the fall of 2020.

Recorded in 3 sessions between the summer’s of 2019 and 2020, the album consists of 6 one take improvisations which were then edited, layered, altered, or left alone, in some combination. With the project files lost due to hard drive failure, the music sat immutable on a cloud backup, in stark contrast to the dynamic process in which they were created.

With the start of 2024 and both members finding themselves back in the same city, these old recordings are finally seeing the light of day.
