We recorded this song on the weekend and added a few more parts, River Phoenix was inspired by a photo of the river and a bright sunset, that looked like a phoenix in the sky. It made me think of the actor as well in this. I thought of him as the landscape. Where his life ends as a river, the phoenix is born in the sky. So I salute River, and dedicate this to all the artists and writers I love
