It's ages since I've posted any new content on my SoundCloud and a few of you have been asking for this, so here you go! I had the privilege of being asked to play a hard house classics set for this year's huge Wigan Pier birthday event at Park Hall a few weeks back, and it was easily the best gig I've had since the clubs reopened after Covid. It was ace to be able to play some proper classics for a sell out event at one of my favourite venues, and people seemed to be loving it! There's a good few big Pier tunes on here plus some of my personal favourites. Thanks to everyone who was on the dancefloor for my set that night. Hope you guys enjoy!

In 2006 I did my first official demo and for some reason I named it Smile. Because of this demo I got my first proper gigs and managed to spread my name a little. 
Things really took off a year later when i did Smile 2 and released it the week of a Tidy Weekender. I think i posted out nearly 400 copies!
Since then I have done a Smile mix ever year. Its been nearly 18 months since Smile 5 so i figured I better get a move on!

I have tried to make all the demos fast paced and fun. Always sticking to a formula of combining Hard Dance, Bounce and Hard Trance. In particular making sure the mixing is interesting, tight and keeps that pace up! You wont see many 'Cut Mixes' on my demos!

So here it is. Its been months in the planning, collecting tracks, making tracks, sorting the artwork, making an intro, mixing the thing and doing all this while still keeping the 'Smile' feel to the mix.
Hopefully i have done a good job. I have included my favourite tracks from the last year by some of my favourite producers and combined them with my new productions since Smile 5. I had to do something special at the end of the cd to complete the series so I hope you enjoy 'Wains World!'

Smile 4 - Wain Johnstone

Hi folks,

Thanks for visiting. I have been djing since 2002 and playing in clubs since 2006.  I have recently retired from playing in clubs so the only place you will hear my music will be online.

I love hard dance especially the bounce side of things. I am all about high energy and uplifting tunes so if that's your thing then you are in the right place!

I have played for brands such as Frantic, Tidy, Polysexual, AWsum, Contagious, B2T, Nu Religion, Bounce Factory, We Love Bounce, Dirtbox, Sundissential & Wildchild. Holding residencies at Contagious, Bounce & We Love Bounce.

I have been lucky enough to play at some great venues including The Tidy Weekender, Global Gathering, Gatecrasher, SE One, Koko, Scala, The Sanctuary, Escape, Renaissance Rooms & Hidden.

I made my way into the scene by getting recognition for my hugely popular 'Smile' demos. This combined with various other mixes and producing many popular tracks has planted my name firmly in the hard dance scene. I am the driving force and one half of the mighty Lamin8ers, the 8-bit hard dance sensation! Check out the Lamin8ers soundcloud for more info.

Since retiring I have enjoyed sticking together some trance mixes. This is the stuff I love to go clubbing to. Its only for fun so I hope you enjoy them.
