Set in Ireland in the 1840s, the tale of Cait Ui Challaigh, a widow and mother and a Landlord, Clanricarde who planned to evict them and leave them destitute. A scene played out across Ireland during that period.  

Inspired by the many 'fierce Irish women' throughout Irish History.

After hearing Sarah here on Soundcloud, I knew right away that I wanted to write for her and work with her. Luckily for me, she agreed and so ‘Exit’ was born. With Sarah’s beautiful voice and poignant lyrics, as well as Alba’s incredible guitar, this has been a very special track to put together. I haven’t released anything in almost ten months…and it feels wonderful to be back.

“I was unsure about my next song to create and so my wife suggested writing something in the style of The Mamas & The Papas, which I thought was a fantastic idea. A further suggestion by my wife was added; to include the words “Give Love, Get Love”, which was written on my tea bag string (pictured). This was an even better idea and now a fun challenge. With that, this song was written. 

This is a song about giving yourself to life - that we are simply salt floating in the sea; stardust in the universe - to not resist and to embrace every moment. 

I really love the 60’s Woodstock camp fire feel to this song and I enjoyed trying to emulate the sounds/panning of the incredible “California Dreamin’”. I think the electro/synth-pop inspired vocal processing adds a nice modern twist. I hope you enjoy this one”

The Salt And The Sea

The Road Agents are Bob Gemas and David Williams. Bob is an old punk rocker with an eclectic taste and wide knowledge of all sorts of music. He would find somewhat obscure songs songs that we would then do as a two piece. Bob plays rhythm guitar, sings lead vocal and adds any percussion you might hear. David plays lead guitar, bass fills and does backing vocals. In addition to the covers, there are a couple of Road Agent originals that Bob wrote. 


We played out with these and some of my tunes. Most of what is here is live with a mike hanging and two guys making music. A few of the songs, like this one, are more produced but still capture the spirit of the Road Agents..

A one take blues jam. Les wrote the amazing lyrics with which I  jammed this track. I was feeling the blues at the time and wanted to keep the raw emotion, so I haven't produced the track. This is a one take on rhythm guitars, vocal, bass and lead. Warts n all! The vocal is the original jam. Hope you like it!

It was very difficult month for me, that's why I was silent so long. This track is my katharsis.

“You’re My Beautiful” is a love song I wrote for my wife Emma, to mark three significant milestones in her life. First, I wanted to give her a unique and special gift from my heart in the form of a love song for her birthday.   Second, Emma took early retirement in August 2023 from academia and research and was a professor of epidemiology at Ontario Tech University (OTU) in Oshawa, Ontario. We have taught at various institutions together over the years including Queen’s University in Kingston, Ontario, University of Windsor and most recently at OTU. We were passionate about teaching; have both received teaching awards and have co-published five textbooks related to public health together over the years.  Emma has recently released her first fantasy novel (Emma P. Shan) entitled “Ozia: When the Sky Tore” and plans on writing additional novels. We have also worked not only as partners in marriage, but also in research related to various noncommunicable diseases such as heart disease, stroke, and dementia.  Third, Emma is a breast cancer survivor, and this December will mark the 10th anniversary of her victory over this deadly disease.

"You're My Beautiful" is a collaboration between myself and Stephen Wrench, who wrote this beautiful instrumental and did the acoustic guitar performance.  It also features 5 times nominated Grammy artist Molly Cherryholmes on violin. On January 8,  2024 it hit No. 1 on the Euro Indie Network Music ranking and was No. 1 World Indie Network Top 100 Music list. Stephen has been a 6x Grammy Awardee and has won over 50 Gold and Platinum records throughout his career journey that spans 5 decades now. Daydreaming is the stream of consciousness that detaches from current external tasks when attention drifts to a more personal and internal direction. This phenomenon is common in people's daily life shown by a large-scale study in which participants spend 47% of their waking time on average on daydreaming . There are various names of this phenomenon including mind wandering, fantasy, spontaneous thoughts, etc. Daydreaming is the term used by Jerome L. Singer whose research programs laid the foundation for nearly all the subsequent research in this area today. The list of terminologies assigned by researchers today puts challenges on identifying the common features of the phenomenon, in this case daydreaming, and on building collective work among researchers.

There are many types of daydreams, and there is no consistent definition amongst psychologists, however the characteristic that is common to all forms of daydreaming meets the criteria for mild dissociation. Also, the impacts of different types of daydreams are not identical. While some are disruptive and deleterious, others may be beneficial in some way.

Dr. Wally Bartfay is a retired Professor and former Associate Dean (August, 2024) for the Faculty of Health Sciences at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.  He was also affectionately known as the “Rock N’ Prof” by his students because he often played original songs that he has written prior to the commence of lectures to create certain vibes and buzzes in his classes. His music has appeared on Euro Indie Music Chart lists top 1; World Indie Music Chart lists top 1 and 2; BWNR music list top 5, and the US Top 20 Show- Weekly Pulse of Music at No. 18. In 2024, he had 3 No. 1 Indie hits on the Euro Indie Network Music Charts and World Indie Top 100 Music Chart lists with collaborator Stephen Wrench: 1. You're My Beautiful; 2. Little Sunshine Girl and 3. Cherry Hill Gal.  Stephen has been a 6x Grammy Awardee and has won over 50 Gold and Platinum records throughout his career journey that spans 5 decades now.

Ever since Wally was a little lad, he wanted to play the electric guitar and make music that creates smiles on people’s faces. He can remember playing his imaginary electric "air guitar" in his parents’ basement to various rock and country songs for hours on end. He got his first guitar when he turned 14 after taking on various odds jobs including pumping gas on weekends and cutting lawns.  He quickly learned to play it on his very own, along with several other instruments. Wally has also done research related to the benefits of music therapy as a nonpharmacological intervention with patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia.  He got interested in researching the clinical benefits of music as medicine after his father was diagnosed with vascular dementia following a series of strokes that left him bed bound in a nursing home.  Ironically, this is the same nursing home that he used to put on volunteer Christmas concerts for during his youth in his community. He is passionate about song writing and his songs often reflect personal experiences and challenges that he has faced over the years. Each song contains components of his genuine lived experiences, heart, and soul as an artist.
