So happy to finally get to release this piece of music. It's written as a cello quartet and I got in touch with the french cello player Roxane Genot to record it. I must say that the result is stunningly beautiful. Thank you Roxane for this great collaboration!

This song has been a long time coming and I had to overcome a lot of criticism as I made it.  I am eternally grateful to David Hannah for recording 2 amazing solos for it.  I make the song, he makes the song amazing!   Crank it up - this is a rocker that's sure to get your toes a tappin'.

I guess I am hung up on how and why we repeat mistakes over and over.
The map to a better future is clearly written in the past.
Learn from it, don't distort it,

so what's an hour...It's 60 minutes
so what's a minute...it's 60 seconds
so what's a second..now that's really fast
so what's it matter..not much if they die in the past

time is such a waste of time ,look at all I've wasted
worrying about the time that's left and not taking time to live it
I'm so afraid of dying that I do no more living
I think so much of what I want that I do no more giving
I pretend to live forever though I know that it's not true
So I lie and say tomorrow I'll find time to call you

so what can make it last...I mean forever
and what is the past...an ancient river
so what is the future...a shadow in the night
so what does it all matter..we need the past to give us light

we live and die every day and dump our deeds along the path
stumble forward in the dark as if forever we will last
we have to heed the deeds we did and remember what they sowed
or else we stumble off a cliff and the future leaves us cold
and alone with the ghosts of our regrets of what we could have done
if we had listened to the past and not partied in the sun

so what's it matter, the past??

The image is an oil painting made for me by my friend Ray's Ukrainian born Wife,  Artist Margaryta Yermolayeva. It is a painting of my favorite view out the window at the home I moved away from a year ago. At that home I learned a lot about life and a lot about myself. Now a memory of that home hangs on the wall in my bedroom so I can awake each day and still see my favorite view out the window. So, why the title Hide? I'm not sure. I wasn't hiding from anything or anyone. Maybe hiding mentally from relationship problems and finding flight to be easier than fight.
