First recorded set. First full set. Third time on the decks. Track list chosen, cues set, no prior practice. Just flowed with it. And continued to play around throughout. Best to just jump in right?

Still learning how to mix in tracks, so some parts are a bit shoddy and by the end, my mixing style had shifted quite a bit.
Looking for feedback on all fronts, as well as general thoughts and insights of the set.

Opening first track - Kala
‘Kala’ is sanskrit for time. Commonly recognised in the mandala ‘Kalachakra,’ The “Wheel of Time” in Tibetan Buddhism.
I am a sucker for synchronicities as is the next person, but for this part to hit, you need to know that I have no idea about track names or artist names. I hear a song i like, its shazammed, placed in appropriate folder and thats it. I will have already forgotten the name by the time i exit spotify. It wasnt until choosing the first track for the set that I noticed the name of this track as Kala. This name is particularly relevant to me. (Side story: Ive been working on writing a novel. I love storytelling and worldbuilding and i have a grand idea for a trilogy series). Anyway, about 3 years ago, I was at a point of finding a name for the main character and Kala Ren is what I whipped up (Came from Kylo, as in Kylo Ren from Star Wars). And so that was the obvious choice for my first track. Then as I worked through setting the appropriate key pathways, i ended up with a few options and lo and behold what was the title of one of them? 

Closing final track - Time
The Kala connection clicked and it all just worked out and wrapped up so well. In a nice little bow. Starting and ending with time. Something that I never felt like I had. Not enough of it to be able to explore music in the way I wanted. Not in this lifetime. Or so I had thought. My perception of what time means is shifting. If I can achieve this in the little time I had and also still have been present through it all, no matter what the experience or how short the experience, it will have been worth it. Time is indeed a construct. So lets construct it into a form that can be forever cherished. For us in the moment, and for us in the memory.

Vena Cava has already graced the decks for some notoriously respected Melbourne dance institutions and collectives such as My Aeon, Killing Time, Revolver, Circus, Sooki Lounge, and Hangover (Switzerland). Additionally she has brought her musical tones to festivals including Esoteric, Comfort Creek, Pitch Music and Arts Festival, and Circadian Rhythms. Lastly, she is a resident for Pelican Villa and the Sound Project.

A deep melodic journey to engage listeners’ heart-mind connection with emotionality and tonal precision.
Wanderer is an artist that thrives on curating journey sets, where his flow finds its foundations with melody in electronic dance music. The history of self-taught singing, bedroom belting and obsession with vocal riffs/runs granted him an immeasurable love for note precision. The focus of his sets is in the weaving of melodic bases to take listeners through a carefully crafted sound voyage. Commonly leaning on bright, airy and uplifting sounds, but not shy from veering into the sharper and edgier tones. His sound places less agency on genres and is often wandering about in any given set. Through and in between the realms of deep house. With a common element of trance and always a route of progression. So long as the melodies hold.
His aim is to create a seamless melodic experience that culminates into a sonic story. Promoting deeper aural immersions and heightening clarity of thought within the mind temple.

The true name comes from the words ‘wander’ and ‘wonder.’ Two verbs that succinctly describe his journey through the music and arts sphere of Australia. An exploration made in solitude and in earnest, to study and understand this expansive culture. And finding his own stories of self-discovery in the process.

Fast tempo that gets my feet moving swiftly like a storm's breeze, bass that gets my hips swaying like the falling leaves, dance with me now into the clouds and leave your mind in the dirt down below.
