AGUACULTURA is the latest release from New York City DJ and Producer Matt FX after a whirlwind year which has seen him performing around the world in 25 cities across 14 countries in Asia and the Americas. This three-track EP is his debut on Mexico City’s Boyanza records and the first of many upcoming releases from his catalog.

The first track Atencion Nosotros features intricately woven hand percussion forming a unique shuffle and foundation for it’s bouncy, rubber band bassline and smooth, spectral synthwork. Written in Mexico City with DJ and vocalist JNGLEJ, the track features her vocals as a kind of call to action: attention everyone- for tonight, everything is different.

Track two, An Elephant in St. Tropez, features a low-slung and deconstructed tribal rhythm just begging for a packed and sweaty outdoor floor, with pan flutes and Matt’s signature synth work crescendo-ing to a bassline reveal befitting of the track’s namesake creature. Culminating with a massive and sleazy 303, the track is a cheeky ode to crowd control specialists like Julio Bashmore and Kyodai.

The EP finishes off with it’s namesake ‘Aguacultura’, a first for Matt as he explores a mostly drumless, borderline ambient synth composition. Produced on a bullet train from Osaka to Tokyo, Aguacultura takes us below the surface with a meditative, relaxed dive into friendly waters.

Roman Flügel and Andrew Weatherall supply two outstanding remixes of Phil Kieran recent album ‘Blinded By The Sun’, which David Holmes claimed is “one of the best electronic dance inspired records in recent times.”

Mixmag described Phil Kieran as “one of those producers that impresses with every release” so it comes as no surprise that two music heavyweights have jumped on board for remix duty. Kieran accounts Flügel and Weatherall to both having a heavy influence on his career.
German DJ and producer Roman Flügel is easily one of the most revered names in the dance music spectrum. His take on ‘No Life’ is a masterclass in production. Flügel has created a track that is powerful whilst also superbly intricate. Flügel holds over twenty years of experience, extensively releasing on a number of labels whilst also co-founding Ongaku, Klang and Playhouse Recordings.

UK born DJ and producer maestro Andrew Weatherall remixes ‘Finds Love’ and reminds the listener of how beautiful electronic music can be. Combining cosmic layers with the ethereal vocal, this is a lesson in what a remix means. Weatherall has been experimenting with techno since the 90s, and well regarded as one of the world’s most influential DJs.
Kieran created a ten track narrative in ‘Blinded By The Sun’, inspired by his experiences in the industry. It was met with high acclaim globally and this remix package further imprints his vision on pioneering imprint Hot Creations.

Producer duo, Horsemen, joins a long line of talent rising from Berlin with string of 2018 releases beginning with Horsemen’s vinyl debut pressed by Released Records titled ‘Unknown EP’. In union with Slim Steve’s venture into the label space with Juicy Traxxx, the two party’s form a proper release with static rhythmic tune ‘Would U Believe It’ on Juicy Traxxx’s Vol 1. V/A Compilation. ‘Would U Believe It’ churns like clockwork with its crunchy crisp claps & distorted snares. The menacing bassline rumbles with the kickdrum like thousands of feet clomping on the concrete slabs of Berlin in unison.

Rework are Michael Kuebler and Daniel Varga, who released their first international club hits Love Love Love Yeah and You're So Just Just on the Frankfurt-based techno institution Playhouse. After their first album Fall Right Now 2003, their  second long player Pleasure Is Pretty was released 2007 and the third one You Play on Visionquest 2014 as well as they founded their own label Loveyeah Records . Their tracks were remixed by artists like Trentemøller,  Magda, Roman Flügel, Alter Ego, Losoul and many others. They appear also on various compilations like the legendary Richie Hawtins’s Closer To The Edit, various Famous When Dead,  Fabric DJ mixes and on Magda’s Balance 27 Mix.

REWORK released various EPs, most outstanding Werewolf – with remixes of Magda and Remain on Meant Records as well as  two EPs on Items & Things. Last year´s highlight was the release of Love Call on Seth Troxler's Soft Touch Records and Acid Control on the Barcelona based Yakazi Records, including a Fur Coat Remix.  Describing their own musical aesthetic as new wave techno, REWORK forges a distinct sound, that combines icy minimal structures with catchy Jane Birkin style vocals, and a dash of dancefloor melancholy. Darker than before, the team becomes more and more intense. The new stuff is quite different and fresh – they bomb every dancefloor with their dreams, which can easily turn into nightmares.

In 2016 REWORK teamed up with dOP for EB.TV a live session by Telekom Electronic Beats filmed at the Berlin based club "Wilde Renate". REWORK also nearly finished the production of their new album and are preparing a new live and DJ set for their worldwide tour. With their regular releases on labels such as Visionquest, Soft Touch and Items & Things REWORK are again on top of the worldwide club scene.
