A neat wee 'hyperchormatic' sequence I discovered when getting back into 31EDO a few days back. Pretending the tonic is C (not C^), the basic progression goes something like: C - C maj7(15) - C harm21(8:12:14:21)-F maj9/C - C harm11(e.g. 4:6:7:10:11) - Ab aug6/C (5:8:12:14 from C) resolving outward to G generally.

So we have the descending line C-B-A#-A-A#-Ab-G and the ascending line E-E#-F-F^-F#-G. Woohoo for hyperchromatic contrary motion.

tin birds (2014) is a four-channel generative audio installation.  All of the sounds comprising the piece are being synthesized and controlled in real-time.  Each moment's sonic makeup is determined by a complex network of math and signal routing, but at the core of the work, there are two instruments making sound: one which generally sings like a miniature Hammond organ, high and contemplative, but prone to occasional fits; and one which is continually winding itself up and down – Sisyphus on a bicycle.

This is a five-minute, stereo excerpt which displays a swath of various textures and timbres the installation has the ability to create.

BACHELORETTE PARTY- "SUBMISSION OF ARCHIVAL SONIC DOCUMENTATION: RIVERWEST, WI 2017-2018" cs

Two live recordings, both performed in the Riverwest neighborhood of Milwaukee, WI between 2017 and 2018. Bachelorette Party is the duo of vocal/electronics improviser and composer Amanda Schoofs and harsh noise/performance artist Peter J. Woods. Together, the two artists create heavily saturated works of industrial-tinged noise that sway between textural explorations of metal object percussion to crushing walls of distortion. These discordant moments remain stitched together by Schoof’s vocal work which effortlessly transitions from highly polished operatic singing to guttural howls. It’s a dark place, one that won’t let you forget that fact.
