With summer lying in wait, Lisa Prank is coming out of hibernation and embracing the sun. Robin Edwards' Seattle-based solo project has gained a dedicated following thanks to her expert marriage of a bubbly sound and all-too-relatable lyrics. Following 2014's exceptional Crush on the World, Lisa Prank returns with a breezy but focused collection of meticulously crafted bedroom pop gems. Adult Teen, the project's forthcoming record, is dominated by bruised romanticism, introspective longing, and a palpable sense of desire, building a sound heavily influenced by 90s pop punk and the decade’s lighthearted culture.

Robin Edwards performs all of the Lisa Prank songs live with an electric guitar and a Roland MC-505 drum machine, delivering memorable performances with ease. Thanks to that fact, Lisa Prank has become a project that's frequently celebrated among Edwards' peers, some of whom, including Bree McKenna and Emily Nokes of Tacocat, Julia Shapiro of Chastity Belt, and Andrew Sullivan and Ian Dugas of The Trashies contributed performances to the record. Lisa Prank has shared the stage with bands like Waxahatchee, Tacocat, and Pony Time. She also contributed vocals on Childbirth's Women’s Rights album for Suicide Squeeze Records. Adult Teen was recorded and mixed by Eric Randall (Tacocat), mastered by Carl Saff, with artwork by Faye Orlove.

Adult Teen is out June 24, 2016 on Father/Daughter Records with a limited cassette release on Miscreant Records.

Lisa Prank - Starting Again

As one of our most beloved Dirtybird Players, Justin Martin travels the world week in and week out putting smiles on people's faces, always with an even bigger grin of his own. With his sophomore album, 2016's "Hello Clouds", Justin proved that it's more than just fun and games – he's a seriously talented producer. 

His songwriting skills were on display with unique vocalists Charlotte OC, FEMME, and Lena Cullen, and his production chops were flawless on his solo tracks and collaborations with Kill Frenzy, Will Clarke, Ardalan and his brother Christian Martin.

Hello Clouds debuted at #1 on the iTunes Dance chart and Beatport's album chart, and hit #15 on Billboard's Dance/Electronic Albums Chart the week after its release; these stats are a testament to the brilliance of the album and the way its diverse sounds resonated with fans both old and new.

While it can be argued that the original album was largely for listeners, there's no doubt that the Hello Clouds remixes are squarely aimed at DJs and dance floors the world over. Justin hand-picked the twelve artists who he thought would best reinterpret his work and, as with the original album, he's knocked it out of the park here.

Fellow Dirtybird Ardalan's epic version of the title track diverges from the basement vibes of Jakwob's mix, while the Christian Martin collab "Midnight" sees a new day courtesy of both party-starters Soul Clap and life-of-the-party Doorly.

Justin opened his Campout set with Walker & Royce's explosive mix of "The Feels", which also gets reworked by UK hero Low Steppa, and UK also gets another representation with Redlight’s mix of “Wet Cat"

South Africa's Kyle Watson turns the moody "Odyssey" into a peak-time monster, while Little By Little gives us both a vocal and dub mix of the equally sultry "Rabbit Hole." Fresh-faced producer Lenny Kiser leaves his mark on the Charlotte OC single as well. 

Rounding out the package is a bona fide jungle remix of "Back to the Jungle" by the drum-n-bass icon DJ Marky, along with a massive remix of the same tune from the one and only Chris Lorenzo.

It’s been an incredible 12 months for Texas duo Tritonal, with an extensive US tour, selling out legendary venues like Terminal 5 in New York City and The Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles. The act is just starting their accent into the pop stratosphere with the release of their new video and single for their song "Strangers".

The video features Lil Buck who's been on a meteoric rise since the premier of his Louis Vuitton x Nowness piece and his Superbowl Lexus Commercial . The video for "Strangers" starts with Lil Buck dancing opening and with large, exaggerated movements, only to have his physical space reduced as the song progresses. Lil Buck's performance is beautiful, full of energy and raw emotion. Let the song and video take you on a journey.

Three Minute Heroes is a campaign from The Warren Youth Project that supports young people to use creative writing and music to talk openly, confidently and safely about what’s on their mind. Three Minute Heroes is dedicated to ensuring young people have their voices heard #hearmeout. Bands and musicians across our region have recorded this first album of songs whose lyrics have been written exclusively by young people attending schools in Hull and East Yorkshire – that album will be released worldwide through Warren Records FREE to young people everywhere on March 31st.

Why is Three Minute Heroes happening?

Because it’s important to be able to talk openly and honestly about our mental health so our friends, parents, families, doctors and teachers know what’s bothering us and can do something to support us – and we think using music is one of the best ways to make sure young people have their voices heard.

How does Three Minute Heroes work?

Really simple. The Three Minute Heroes Team works in partnership with schools around Hull and East Yorkshire to help young people express their feelings through creative writings. Those writings/lyrics are then given to bands and solo artists who put them to music and create powerful songs that create an authentic voice for young people. Those songs are then digitally released by Warren Records to provide a creative resource.

How to be a Three Minute Hero

To be a Three Minute Hero all you have to do is talk, blog or vlog about mental health for 3 minutes. You can talk about something or somebody or a moment that changed your life in three minutes, or a piece of music or film or art that inspired you in three minutes. You can Tweet/Facebook/Instagram something about mental health in 3 minutes (#threeminuteheroes #hearmeout), or you could say something supportive to a friend in 3 minutes – there are lots of ways to get involved.

Warren Records is a label run by the Music Team at the Warren Youth Project in Hull. 

The label was set up on the back of our appearance on Channel 4's Secret Millionaire in which the amazing Martin Stamp gave us the money to help support our studio and start a label to promote the amazing young musicians we work with. 

Warren Records is now well established with a number of releases under our belt, all of which we are very proud to be a part of. In Hull Warren Records has become a major part of the local music infrastructure and is now seen as a hub for music in and around the city. We act as a direct link to the all amazing and ever growing talent in our area and urge anybody to make contact with us and the artists we work with.
