The line-up of remixers is oh so strong.

Everyone's favorite Italian duo Armonica comes out with a real rocket of a remix. Andrea and Salvatore keep the drive and momentum of the original but with an amazing twist to it. Animal Trainer, two legendary heavyweights from Switzerland consisting of Adi and Samy gives their remix a nice trippy vibe while keeping the playful character of the original. Finally, yet importantly, the Australian sensation Made in Paris goes from strength to strength. Now a member of Oliver Koletzki's Stil Vor Talent Family, the future sure looks bright. Paris remix is a proper floor filler that will set the mood any night of the week.'

Matthias Meyer and a trio label of debutants make up the fourth instalment of the much-loved ‘Watergate Affairs’ series.
 
Initiated in 2016, the series assembles a collection of top-quality tracks that otherwise could not fit into Watergate’s busy release schedule, such is the strong pool of music the label draws from.

Emerging Dutch producer Budakid joins the label with ‘Orrery’, after previously making an impact with cuts on Last Night On Earth, Einmusika and Lost & Found. The track’s dreamy soundscapes and otherworldly energy make for a transcendental mood maker. Matthias Meyer is suitably superb with ‘Interlude’, as delicate strings and a muffled melody line gently wash against a shore of sparse beats. Henri Bergmann & Julian Wassermann link for ‘Maenad’, as punchy grooves bring the EP into peak-time territory as a multi-layered chord pattern hits with a satisfying headrush. Danish artist Nandu rounds out the package with ‘My Mystery Is A Mystery’. It’s the kind of succulent end-of-nighter every set needs as uplifting pads, stirring keys and a buttery bassline glide together in sweet unison.

Matthias Meyer - Interlude

'Out-Er founder Simone Gatto delivers his new EP ‘Imaginary Realities’ via Tiefschwarz’ Souvenir imprint this September.

Southern Italian producer and DJ Simone Gatto has been releasing material over the past decade via the likes of Curle Recordings, Orlando Voorn’s Night Vision and his own Out Electronic Recordings aka Out-Er amongst others. Here though, Gatto delivers four fresh originals for the long-established Souvenir label with a remix from fellow Italian Distant Echoes.

‘A New Wave’ opens the EP, bringing textural pads and synthetic percussion into the limelight while sturdy low-end tones and muted drums further fuel the subtly blooming composition. ‘Quest For A Vision’ follows, bringing focus towards dubbed out acid stabs, crunchy drums and metallic chimes.

Next up is ‘Restorative Agents’, employing a bubbling arpeggio bell like tone at its core alongside saturated drums and reverberated low end pulsations. ‘Primal Reality’ is the fourth and final original from Gatto, a tripped-out five and half minutes of resonant synth flutters, heavily swung drums and bouncy synth patterns. Distant Echoes then completes the package with his take on ‘Primal Reality’, a contrastingly more dancefloor affair fuelled by tension building, ever unfolding synths, vacillating tones and a driving kick.'

From start to finish, the tracks from the Canary Islands’ Alex Medina’s debut EP on mobilee have you in their grip.

Alex has crafted his own signature sound, following on from his Beatport Indie Dance No.1 record on Innervisions “Golden Teacher”; which was supported by Dixon, Ame, Solomun, Pete Tong, Bicep, and Trikk amongst others.

High energy yet with deeper vibes, combined with unique off kilter vocals; these are guaranteed body movers.

Elna returns on vocals for “Waves from One Sea”, which progresses from a driving dancefloor number into a transcendental trip to the left, with surprising twists and turns; multi-layered instruments culminate in a peak of artfully interwoven melodies.

“Break Me Down”’s warpy lead sets the scene for this rave-esque broken beat creation. Gab Ser’s ethereal voice brings yet another element to a diverse palette; that is a striking addition to mobilees’s wide reaching spectrum of sound. We hope to see this one at 5am sometime in the not-too-distant future.
