In celebration of Hip Hop's 50th year, we've teamed up with London based ‘Classic Material’ to present a chronologically themed series of mixtapes celebrating the history of recorded rap music, mixed by Chris Read. Part 2 of this first edition in the series documents Hip Hop’s progression through the years 1984 to 1987, an era in which the dominant sound of Hip Hop changed drastically with the increasing popularity of drum machine programmed beats and early sampling technology. This mix leans quite heavily toward sample based material from the latter part of that era.

T3PO has been rocking parties and clubs nationwide for over 20 yrs. T3PO has moved from state to state, immersing himself in culture and music, finding himself in Phoenix AZ in 1999 where he continues to shake speakers and keep dance floors moving. T3PO rips  it up on a wide variety of genre’s from Classic/Golden Era Hip Hop to Funk, Reggae to Breaks and Dubstep to Top40, Disco to Ghetto Bass, all while still teaching himself music production/editing and furthering his skillset and knowledge.

T3PO has played many venues, events, and parties across the US from private wine  tastings and  weddings, to NFL games. Also having the pleasure to open for or play with such artists as Common, Evidence, Deadmau5, Janes Addiction, Linkn Park and many others. T3PO has released over 50 mixtape albums since 2000 and has held residencies for over 7 years. He has helped create and play weekly events and parties in CA and AZ, some of which still continue after 15 yrs. He has also won and placed in numerous remix and edit competitions for many artists.

From listening to my first rave tape, the sounds introduced to me, blew my young mind. Fast forward to many years later I met a group of like minded friends who had turntables that I could play on which started my desire to learn to play. Whilst attending the underground raves I met a group of friends who was interested in forming a sound system, which became the notorious Koalition Soundsystem which played at various raves across the country. After the raves died down I had the opportunity to present various internet radio shows inviting local talent to play alongside me for many years. As well as playing at clubs and festivals across the country. Lately I have joined up with a group of friends which then became, True F'RMS! Where we have been doing livestreams on internet radio station and studios like Rough Tempo, Dose radio and Silverback studios as well as a few others. Also we had a ep come out on Rawdio recordings as well as some forthcoming releases.
