Oddessa and the Owl is the brain-owlet of Phil Rogers and Joe Miller. Besides heading up Cuckoo Music, Phil’s seen his music released on Rrygular, Pinksilver and Pilot Records, home to his expansive live Oddessa project. As Oddessa, Phil has enjoyed live sets this year at Womadelaide and the Adelaide Festival Centre.  On a normal eve round Adelaide, Phil’s a techno Pimpernel, manifesting with a box of Berlin-drenched 12s at any clubnight or warehouse party where the juju is nice.  Among many others, he’s supported Dj Koze, Shed, Mathew Jonson, Soulphiction and Space Dimension Controller. Late last year Phil took a trip to Berlin, where he played at the private launch of the new Dapayk and Padberg album, and numerous other gigs including Chalet and süß war.
Joe lends a lyric tinge to Phil’s mechanistic braindance, having released on melody-loving Manual Music and won the first Balance Community Mix Series competition with a forty-track harmonic  hodgepodge. He’s also played alongside Agoria, Andrew Weatherall, Lusine and Alex Smoke. By their powers combined, Phil and Joe are Oddessa and the Owl, a techno synapse-bomb with its sights set evenly on the dancing-receptors and the grinning-with-nostalgia receptors.
