Habeeba’s “herstory” with WCSC began with her mom and sisters, when she was very young. She grew up volunteering, seeing first-hand and being a part of community support that helps to change lives for the better. The experience continues to inspire her, as she creates her best life as a global citizen. Habeeba took time out of her busy schedule to talk with Debra Benjamin, Communications Coordinator for the Women's Coalition of St. Croix, about the importance of community in the growth and life of a child. During the month after the end of our radio drama, "Silence Speaks, Secrets Revealed," and the accompanying talk show, "Let's Talk About It" was aired, we invited cast, crew members, the writers and guest experts back to the studio. We played all 26 episodes back-to-back and talked about the process, how those who helped to create the series were affected by the subject matter and what our next steps should be.
