We are delighted to welcome Hools to ICONYC with his brand-new 'Not Afraid of Sunlight EP'. The talented Berlin based producer has been a well-known entity within the scene and has graced some of the world's finest electronic music labels with his unique and lasting productions. He developed an inimitable style of music, full of ambiances, paired with despondent and warm dreamy patterns that guided him to where he is today and embodies the sound he now personifies. People regularly equate his productions as remarkable and flamboyant in equal measures. 
 
On his debut Hools leads the way with the outstanding title track 'Not Afraid of Sunlight'; a stunning driving melodic techno affair. The track utilizes a deep groove as foundation, underpinned by a profound bass and smooth synth chords that gradually ease their way to the summit. Unified by a relentless kick drum and dusky atmospheric emotion, the composition climaxes by adding recurrent percussive elements and soft soaked melodies that come together to create a structured sphere of sonic satisfaction. Clever synth phrases complete the picture to create an ingeniously worked piece of art.

The melodic breaks soundscapes of the accompanying title track 'The Square Root of Nothing' rounds off this spectacular release. Hools' influences are immediately evident as subtle freeform concepts drift through percussive breaks inspired instrumentations. Rippling melodies trip along a deep kick that anchors an auricular montage to create a special sonic infused moment, complemented by a subtle breaks groove that is going to leave a mark on your aural perception. Stunningly textured pads that warm the soul and a strong melodic infused bassline provide the base for this inspired piece to play out in delayed glory. Essential stuff!

Tilburg-based producer and record player Samuel Dictus crafts electronic music with old-school synths, uplifting chord progressions, and dreamy vocal samples. His unique sound is recognized all over the globe, with releases on ICONYC (US) and Paul Hazendonk's Manual Music, Blue Magenta, and MNL recordlabels.

The musical journey of Samuel Dictus started in 2012, when he first got in touch with electronic music after playing the piano for almost his entire life. The past years have been great for the Dutch youngster, gaining support from the likes of VNTM, Tunnelvisions, Olivier Weiter & Miss Melera, and Eelke Kleijn. His DJ-sets have brought him to local and national (club)stages as well, so one thing is guaranteed: Samuel Dictus is a one to watch for the near future.

The sound of Tokyo Social Club can be described as classy "Deep Disco". In 2014 the project Tokyo Social Club was founded in Shibuya, Japan by duo Sash Imi & Su Shi. In recent years, TSC produced many songs, including, "Revolution", which was released on Defected in the UK and bought a lot of interested and attention to the enigmatic duo. The rest they say is history. 

The TSC hype was ignited to a new level in the summer of 2015 with their follow up single on Defected 'Disco Inferno'; which was one of the stand out release of that summer. The track stormed the Beatport charts and reached the Beatport Deep House #1 and overall #3 at its peak and still holds a special place for many house loving fans.

For the first time in the band's history they are bringing their signature sound exclusively to DI.FM with their brand new show 'Disco Hustle'. The show will feature live performances with creative and diverse mixes that will always be presented in a sophisticated and authentic way. Welcome to the sounds of Tokyo Social Club.
