Absolutely love this remix, been playing it a bunch lately

Dutch master Paul Hazendonk returns to the label with 'The Thoughts'. His last outing back in November of 2016 was received to high acclaim. On his long-awaited return to ICONYC, Paul delivers a slice of early spring vibes titled ‘The Thoughts’. 

The original kicks things off nicely with its melancholic moodiness shining through as we meander effortlessly through club inspired melodies, while the sultry chords sit wonderfully on top adding an extra layer of depth which are an integral component in the Paul Hazendonk production sound, as melodic techno, deep and progressive house are closely tied to sensations ranging across the spectrum from melancholy to delight.

Framewerk, famed for their intricate and refined productions created a rework full of tension from the word go, as the atmospheric vibe subtly keeps you moving with warm tinkling sounds, a smooth edge and some nicely effected sounding pieces. We basically have the formula for a bit of a monumental outing. The sparseness is the key here, as this restrained gem works its magic while it plays away, creating a warm glow, creating an air of sophistication. "Essential stuff!"

Next up we have Kamilo Sanclemente & Golan Zocher, who have been tearing up dance floors with their recent productions. They keep the ethereal theme of the original alive, as the pulsating bass powers along, before drum fills and general warmth all combine to do the talking. Like something from yesteryear yet sounding fresh - This mystical touch up takes the energy levels up a notch but increases the melancholy with stripped back and lucid elements at the same time, before the luscious pads grace the rework changing the vibe and creating a blanket of warmth that wraps around the effected groove.

Paul Hazendonk’s ‘The Thoughts’ sees a worldwide release April 23rd, 2018 via all well-known digital content providers. Not to be missed!

An artist who epitomises the modern underground dance industry, Michael A is as gifted as is he is affable. Returning to Proton Music for fourth original EP in the space of twelve months, it is a genuine honour to welcome him back to the label with "Aura Tears".

From the central-southern city of Mazyr, rich in natural resources, Mikhail Akulich has mined from a rich seam of talent through his Michael A moniker. One of his country's most exciting talents, the Belarusian producer continues to find himself at the vanguard of the underground scene with his distinctive blend of "progressive house and techno". A prolific artist, some 650 production credits sit proudly next to the Michael A name; a profound achievement given a commercial debut with a clutch of original releases for Sterofaza and Fluro Music in mid-2012.

Since then a panoply of original and remix production material has been within the catalogues of some of the finest modern independent imprints, not least in the February 2017 "Micrologica" EP for Hernan Cattaneo's Sudbeat plus work for Darin Epsilon's Perspectives Digital and Cid Inc.'s Replug. Further original work for Mango Alley has also seen a high-profile remix from Australian icon, Jamie Stevens, while Akulich has also founded his own Genesis Music imprint to great effect and a regular vehicle for his production work. Hitting the Particles catalogues in late 2013, 2014's "Behind The Moon" was a notable highlight, as was March 2017's "Sapphire". Hitting Proton Music at the same time, a trio of original EPs have been spread across 2017 with "Bright Hope", "Symbol" and "My Style" all worthy of appearance on the flagship label. Now, Michael A returns to Proton with another original offering in the shape of "Aura Tears".

The title track is a beautifully sculpted piece that blossoms into a pulsating and driving anthem that is a perfect example of modern underground progressive house. Richly textured, floating pads and shining melody reveal themselves fully in the stripped breakdown before reaching a crescendo in the third movement, while a glorious bassline progression adds genuine purpose and interest in a work of great skill.

Revelling in similar melodic themes to its predecessor, "Ciklus One" is founded upon a strong rhythmic framework that supplies dancefloor interest in off-beat percussive cadence. Simultaneously a deep bass groove sparks low-end electricity while intelligent spacing within the mix and across the stereo spectrum highlights technique and mature production craft.

The final track continues the melodic tropes of earlier work as textured pads and shimmering motifs emerge over the seven-minute journey that coruscates brilliantly at the mid-point breakdown. Binding rhythm and melody together with bassline glue, a sublime groove keeps dynamism high accompanied by deep kick and ticking percussion.

Three new tracks find tears of joy rooted in Michael A's aura.

Endangered Records is set to release Light In The Lotus EP, the return to the label from founder @briancid.

After ending last year with the release of his debut album on Balance Music, Brian has been on a global tour in support of it. It’s taken him everywhere from Zurich, Moscow and Berlin, to Mexico City, Hawaii, and Cairo. The album was critically acclaimed by his peers, fans and the media, with Billboard featuring him in their ‘Ones To Watch’ section. With his first release of 2019, Brian continues the journey of lush & melodic techno started with the album, and is back on his own Endangered imprint with the Light In The Lotus EP.

The title track opens the release and features the first ever time of Brian using his own vocals. The cosmic beats merge perfectly with his infectious hook on ‘Light In The Lotus’, and those words also contain a deep personal meaning for Brian. ’Species of the Other Kind’ follows, and is aimed right at the dance floor. This one works well during the peak time hours, with unbridled energy from its arpeggiated synths. The pace is then switched up for the second half of the release, with ‘Spirals’ bringing forth more of a melodic and emotional vibe. ‘Melting Clock’ concludes the EP and builds tension with Brian’s signature extended breakdown, before ending the journey and setting the listener back down to earth.

Brian describes the EP: “While learning to enjoy the magical journey of life, this musical project turns into a clear reflection of how my story unfolds. To take it even further and give it stronger personal touch, I’ve printed my own vocals on it, although it was not part of the plan. As I wrote and recorded the reference vocals for another artist, I realized it only made sense for me to be the one reciting it. ‘I see the light in the lotus / inside of me there is a roar’. A state of mind that drifts towards the strongest level of enlightenment powerful as a lion’s roar, impacting earth with its presence. This four tracker continues the musical story of my last album Meteorite Man. Forward thinking driving beats, with a sophisticated touch of subtlety and power. Pronounced melodies diving deeper into a dramatic story. I aimed to push my sound even further just as I have pushed my body, mind & spirit.”

Rising techno talent Rodaq lands on Loot Recordings with a stellar new offering that features remixes from Uone, Yapacc and Schlepp Geist.

Rodaq grew up in Berlin and his sound takes in plenty of the city's strongest influences from the grit and rawness of Tresor and Berghain, to the decadence of Bar25. Now with Singapore as his base, he regularly serves his unique blend of undulating techno and trippy tech-house to dancers all over Europe and Asia and his first EP on Insist Music got props from Laurent Garnier, Riva Starr and Tim Green. Now he returns once more on Loot Recordings with more of his thrilling tunes.

Opener 'Pollock Hill' is a deep and rolling track with sustained chords that get you in a trance. The jumbled percussion keeps your body loose and the whole thing is designed for intimate back rooms. Australia and Balance Music's Uone takes us further into wonderland and gives this a deeper, hazy vibe on his remix. His interpretation kicks things into overdrive with the addition of dreamy guitar harmonies, lush piano chords, gorgeous operatic vocals and massive horn stabs that cut through the track. Rounding out the remixes on this one is fellow Berliner Yapacc who has been released by over 80 labels and remixed for Ricardo Villalobos. He incorporates the original synths, but amplifies it with dramatic drums, muscular percussion and a punchy, melodic bass line.

The second original is 'Phormosa', a dreamy, intricate affair of synth heavy bass lines, complex melodies and tension that builds in all the right places. It is one to slowly but surely cast a spell and take the floor to the next dimension. Leipzig based Schlepp Geist delivers a fine remix that fires up the energy with blurring melodies, relentless analog stabs and celestial synths that modulate and climax throughout the track.

These are four very different but hugely effective dance floor tracks that will light up the club.

Immediately hitting the lab to produce two separate remixes, they added both a tad of deep state and a breath of mystery to the mix.
