Tash's Movement Recordings opens the month of May by welcoming Carsten Halm to the label for his debut EP. Based in Cologne, the German artist has been a DJ for well over a decade, playing some of his country's trendiest clubs along with his self organized events. As a producer Carsten has made considerable strides since first appearing in 2016. Solee's Parquet Recordings has been a comfortable home for the Cologne resident, with three releases landing in 2020 that earned play and support from Animal Trainer, Artbat, Eelke Kleijn, Format-B and Solomun. Now following 2021 offerings via Clubsonica Records, Monkey League, Traum and UV, Carsten makes his Movement Recordings debut with 'My Heart', alongside a remix from Jerome Isma-Ae.

Destined to be a highlight in Carsten's discography, it is the poignant stylings of the title selection which get the release underway. Rhythmically charged from the outset, its smooth cadence, striking stabs and buoyant groove set the piece on a course for aural enlightenment. Emotive chord changes and haunting vocal phrases make for a thrilling first act, carrying momentum and mood into the main break. Glowing swells and soulful phrasing delight across the centrepiece, further enhancing the genuine mood, as a timely drum roll and rising sonics unite for a tasteful crescendo and balmy finale.

Making his second appearance on the label and providing the lone interpretation of 'My Heart' is Jerome Isma-Ae. The German artist has been one of the most unique, sought after and best-selling electronic music producers of the last decade. Combining influences of progressive house and techno with distinguished drum patterns, shapely basslines and a keen dancefloor sensibility have led Jerome to projects via Anjunabeats, Songspire and his own JEE Productions imprint. Having made his Movement Recordings debut in 2018 with a well received remix of 'Delta' by Ziger and Blusoul, Jerome now makes a welcome return to the label with a thunderous rendition of 'My Heart'. Adding more of a progressive state of mind, the German artist carves out a dynamic groove adorned with firing percussive, charming vocal fragments and fresh rhythmic themes. Emotive chord changes and poignant pads emerge as the second movement evolves, bringing goosebump worthy moments to its dance floor inspired framework, and ultimately propelling the track to a thrilling finale.

Marcus Meinhardt is next up on Dear Deer with two big techno rollers and a remix from Lunar Plane.

Lost Paradise is a spaced out techno cut with astral synths dancing on rubbery drums. It is melodic, prog, and epic in all the right ways. Lunar Plane remixes it into something more prickly and bouncy, with slick synth stabs and plenty of cosmic vibes getting you on your feet. Dickicht then closes out the EP in dark fashion with rumbling bass and icy hi hats, spine word mutterings and a sense of drama that leaves a lasting impact.

We welcome back Sean & Dee to the label with their new single 'Sea Turtle' featuring remixes from Andy King and Mila Journée. 

The plucky Italian duo had a great 2019 with tracks signed to Outta Limits and Natura Viva among others and struck gold with a Beatport top 10 for FSOE UV. Their single-minded dedication to progressive music is also winning them many high-profile fans, and we very much expect their sonic journey to take a massive upswing this year. 

'Sea Turtle' is essential dancefloor weaponry. Upbeat and musical, the thundering kicks ushering in a mammoth tune. With bass fully engaged, the sonics begin; twisted sweeps, an epic pad and rhythm line, and later, acid, all working together to create a warm and inviting playground in your mind. Andy King opts for a deeper rendition, cooling down the originals epic overtones and focusing on the emotional content for those earlier warm up moments. While MIla Journée strips the original right back and recreates a chugging tribal prog remix that grows into an epic masterpiece.

2019 saw Italian producer Carlo Whale hit a turning point in his career with the release of his debut EP on Berlin based label, @einmusika-recordings. Making an impression with the inaugural release, he reaffirms himself in the Einmusika family as he returns to the label with his new ‘The Future Is Now’ EP.

Developing and honing his craft since 2013, Carlo has been pursuing the boundaries between music, technology and nature. Carlo’s unique production techniques utilise the environment around him as he tempers the emotions of moments in time into expertly crafted Techno.

‘The Future Is Now’ EP further demonstrates his preference for melodically themed peak time club moments. Amid horns and progressive basslines, Carlo builds a spell-binding atmosphere. Pushing forward his love for melody, ‘Lying Eyes’ uses piano synths that grow to build euphoria, meanwhile ‘Glass House’ brings out a more ambient side of the EP.
