Answering ICONYC's distinct call, Belgian sound alchemists RE-TYPE step up to the plate with their superb three-track EP, Echoes. Designers of a prolific discography, Lucas and Pieter's arresting creations have garnered support from major players, including the likes of Tale Of Us and Camelphat, as they carve a unique trajectory, empowered by a sound that exists in its own timeline, lying far beyond the imagination of most modern creators.
 
Reflecting what once was, the EP's titular "Echoes" finds RE-TYPE knee-deep in a chugging groove where thumping kicks and restless hi-hats drive us down a cavernous rabbit hole of illusions. Here, we are lured by washed-out vocals that linger, echoing across mirrored halls before coming into focus as they light up the piece, unveiling a laser-cut lead line for a dazzling experience. With the track now in full throttle, our Belgian maestros then terraform a second break, taking the dial up to 11 for maximum impact before "Echoes" dissolves into the past for a full circle.                                 

As we hit play on our answering machines, RE-TYPE present us with "Dalliance", where a coded message and a dense frame cut through the static with consummate ease. Shrouded in a cosmic haze, the production duo unleashes a tantalizing lead that traverses across a stabbed bassline and meandering synth swells that dance in the background, carelessly, unaffected by the track's own entropy. Harnessing tension with every passing beat, RE-TYPE devise a monumental breakdown, allowing for a decompressing release that takes "Dalliance" higher into the firmament for a rousing finale.

Echoes's third gem comes in the shape of "Voicenote". Here, Lucas and Pieter craft a restless groove where lush synths rise into the sun at their own pace, generating a gorgeous sense of juxtaposition before a gracious vocal sample invites us inside for an unforgettable dance. As the beats pass us by, the warm synthetic lines come through in waves, colliding against thunderous drum arrangements, generating a fantastic maelstrom of love forged by the memories of better days to come.

As we break into the dawn of a new cycle, ICONYC's latest anthology of tracks blossoms forth into the light with the second installment of the 'Florilegia' series. Comprised of 10 spellbinding creations, our latest delivery of 'Florilegia' features the sounds of Vomee, Enes Çakır & Yost Koen, Odeon, Gorgin, Baime & Jepe, ETRI, Auggië, Mironas, OLING & Harald Björk, and Nuage.

The first seed on our compilation is planted by Vomee's 'You Are Not There', a restless act where vocal flourishes come alive in technicolor as they blaze across a thunderous creation for a soaring opening. In our second act, Enes Çakır & Yost Koen keep the energy flowing through the veins with a mechanical frame, razor-sharp stabs, and bending synthetics as the pair come together to generate some unstoppable momentum in 'Two of Us'.  For our third stop on the compilation, we uncover Odeon's 'Used to Say', which takes us deep inside a broken frame and lush vocal dashes soaked in a dazzling narrative bound to etch its way into our memory forever. Following up, Gorgin presents us with 'Amaryllis', a rare breed of flower that grows in tension with every passing beat as cascading arpeggios glide across the piece while lush synth swells draw enthralling shapes before its iridescent lead takes hold of the cut. For our fifth run, Baime & Jepe come together to unveil the alluring 'Prochamara'. Racing over a menacing low end, the production pair constantly switches gears in a gripping production adorned with distorted stabs and vocal chops as it glides across the night sky. 

Coming in hot on the halfway mark, ETRI plants 'Did It Again', a deep and highly narcotic cut that treads into uncharted waters with unparalleled aplomb with true Indie flair. Then, it is Auggië who steps up to the plate with 'Como Te Llamas', leading us inside a complex concoction where grinding gears set the stage for undulating synth swells and meandering brass lines. In our eighth chapter, Mironas presents us with the sublime '9ths', an exquisite exploration where neon-laced sequences run amok, leading 'Florilegia' to new heights. Following up, OLING & Harald Björk link up for 'Jade'. Here, sultry warped vocals and lively squelches intertwine for an exquisite state-of-the-art take on electronic music. Finally, it is Nuage who wraps up our second installment of 'Florilegia' with 'Stones Speak Silent', a perfect closing where broken beats and ethereal vocals come together to create a spellbinding piece that nourishes dreams with a gorgeous hue for the ultimate send-off. 

Another quintessential compendium of modern club electronica, ICONYC's second installment of 'Florilegia' is a gorgeous bouquet of sounds set to define the modern dancefloors and beyond.
